As a Social Care Regulatory Inspector (SCRI), you'll use your expertise to drive improvement across the sector while enjoying excellent benefits, flexibility and professional development.
Are you the right person?
We are looking for experienced professionals who are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
- You may be a social worker, team manager or service manager working with children and families
- A registered manager of a children's home or residential special school
- A leader within fostering, adoption or supported accommodation services
Whatever your background, you'll bring sound judgement, professional credibility and a proven track record of making a positive difference. Most importantly, you'll share our commitment to putting children at the heart of everything you do.

What does an Inspector do?
As an SCRI, you'll carry out evidence-led inspections and regulatory work across a range of children's social care settings.
- Working with experienced colleagues, you'll inspect services including children's homes, fostering agencies, adoption agencies, residential special schools and supported accommodation providers
- You'll identify what's working well, challenge poor practice and promote improvement across the sector
Children's voices are central to our work. By speaking directly with children and young people, you'll gain a real understanding of their experiences and ensure that inspection findings focus on what matters most.
This is a role that keeps you connected to frontline practice while giving you a unique insight into innovation, excellence and emerging challenges across children's social care.
