Job Details
Contributing to meeting the personal, social and emotional needs of people with disabilities and their carers. Promoting social inclusion by working with people to maximise their personal independence, health and wellbeing to access opportunities in their local communities enabling them to live meaningful lives.
Providing a wide range of care and support to service users with Learning Disabilities and/or Mental health disorders to meet their assessed needs through goal setting objectives and in accordance with best practice taking account of Practice Standards. This role may include lone working, and all successful applicants will be expected to carry out all shift patterns on a rota basis, which include days, evenings, weekends, sleepovers and wakened nightshifts
Salary range is £31,761.26 - £34,914.86 per year; these are part-time posts (16hrs, 26hr and 30hrs per week) and a permanent contract. Enhancements for unsocial hours, sleepovers and public holidays are provided.

Fife Council will offer training and development to meet your SSSC registration requirements and will cover the cost of your annual SSSC registration. There is a generous annual leave allowance of 33 days, increasing to 38 days after 5 years’ service.

The Person
Undertaking a range of personal/physical care tasks which may include assistance with washing, dressing, eating, toileting, administration of medication and any other tasks in accordance with the care plan.
Providing positive support and encouragement for people to make their own choices and decisions in all aspects of their daily lives.
Linking with other providers, statutory and voluntary agencies, including health, to develop positive working relationships compiling information on other relevant and available community resources.
Auditing, documenting and reporting all required checks e.g. finance, health and safety, cleaning and maintenance of equipment/aids.
Operating within the framework of service policies and procedures e.g. Health and Safety Regulations, Data Protection Legislation and Confidentiality Policy, assessing potential risks to yourself, colleagues and service users.
Assessing, planning, implementing, monitoring and reviewing of individual support plans
Actively promoting and ensuring a high standard of care practice in accordance with National Care Standards, ensuring individuals are always treated in a respectful and dignified manner.
Keeping accurate records of outcomes focused support planning and review for the people whom you support.
Undertaking the keyworker role - monitoring and ensuring the service user is being offered the opportunities, experience, care and support identified in their care plan.
