Overview
Holdens is a Manchester-based creative agency for ambitious brands that want to make impact – not just look good. We combine strategic thinking, genuine creativity and straight-talking honesty to build brand work that stands out, moves forward and earns its keep.
Off the back of some exciting new client wins and a brand-new agency identity, we’re growing our Social & Content team and looking for a Social & Content Manager to help us deliver an ambitious social and content programme across multiple brands and channels. This is a genuinely hybrid role – part strategist, part content creator, part writer – and we’re looking for someone who can move fluidly between developing social strategies and content calendars, picking up a phone to shoot compelling social-first content, and crafting sharp, well-researched copy for social, blogs and emails.
You’ll work across Holdens and a portfolio of our key client accounts spanning healthcare, beauty, fashion, lifestyle, retail and e-commerce, where you’ll spend time on-site capturing content and being the face of their brands on camera. You’ll help ensure the content we produce is on brief, on brand and built to make impact, reporting directly to the Strategy Director and working closely with our Client Experience, Creative and Digital teams.
As part of a collaborative, fast-paced agency, you’ll get involved in a wide range of content and social activity across our four core capabilities:
- Brand Expression – brand strategy, identity, guidelines and AI-ready design systems
- Brand Engagement – websites, apps and digital products
- Brand Exposure – advertising, campaigns and digital marketing
- Brand Experience – experiential, AR/VR and immersive activations
Key Responsibilities
Social Content Creation & Management
- Create and shoot social-first video and static content using a phone or camera (nice to have) – capturing behind-the-scenes moments, product content and brand stories across the agency and key healthcare, beauty, lifestyle, retail and e-commerce accounts
- Spend time on-site at client locations – ideally two to three days a week – to capture content for their social channels including TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
- Act as one of the faces of the agency and our clients’ social channels, appearing on camera in content where appropriate and helping build an authentic, engaged audience
- Stay ahead of social trends and platform changes, bringing fresh ideas for formats, hooks and content themes that will perform
- Identify content opportunities instinctively – whether in the office, at a client site or at an event – and capture them without being asked
Content Administration & Reporting
- Own and maintain content calendars across Holdens and key client accounts, ensuring content is planned, briefed and delivered on time
- Schedule and publish content across social media platforms using tools such as Hootsuite, Later or Buffer, ensuring posts go out at the right time and in the right format for each channel
- Manage organic social community activity across client and agency channels – responding to comments, managing DMs and inbox messages, and flagging anything that requires escalation
- Upload and publish blog content to CMS platforms such as WordPress, ensuring posts are correctly formatted, tagged and optimised before going live
- Upload and publish product content to e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, ensuring content is correctly formatted, tagged and optimised before going live
- Build, schedule and send email campaigns via Mailchimp, Email Octopus and Klaviyo, working to briefs from the Client Experience and Strategy teams and ensuring campaigns are tested and signed off before deployment
- Maintain and update email databases and distribution lists, supporting segmentation and list management as the agency’s email programme develops
- Track and report on content performance across social, email and organic search using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Trends, platform-native analytics (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn) and email reporting within Mailchimp, Email Octopus and Klaviyo
- Compile regular performance reports for the Strategy Director, Client Experience team and relevant clients, drawing out key insights and making recommendations to improve content effectiveness over time

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
