About Avant Arte
Avant Arte wants to make art radically more accessible for a new generation. We began as a cult blog of contemporary artists and grew organically into the world's largest and most engaged online art community, with more than 3.3 million followers, the majority under 40. We collaborate with iconic contemporary artists to make their work accessible to younger collectors through editions of exceptional quality.
What We Need
We're looking for a freelance Social Content Researcher & Creator to source and develop engaging content ideas for Avant Arte's social media channels. You'll have a strong instinct for what performs on social media, particularly Instagram, and will identify artists, cultural moments, and trends that can be turned into compelling social media content.
What the Role Involves
- Research the art world, contemporary artists, and adjacent creative fields to source a high volume of original content ideas for our social media publishing
- Track social media and platform trends (particularly Instagram) to identify pieces likely to perform well
- Prepare content proposals in batches, tailored to support always-on channels
- Write clear, concise content briefs that accurately distill complex information for the team
- Tailoring content ideas and framing to specific audience segments
- Support the creation of social media assets using design software and brand templates
- Working to weekly deadlines, managing your own research and proposal pipeline

What We're Looking For
- Good content instincts, with some knowledge of best practices and what facilitates success on social media platforms, particularly Instagram
- Strong on visuals
- Understanding of tailoring content to specific audiences
- Able to accurately represent large amounts of information in detailed but concise briefs
- Highly organized and efficient, able to take initiative
- Comfortable and dependable working to weekly deadlines
- Happy to work both self-sufficiently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and an aptitude for accuracy
- Knowledgeable or enthusiastic about the art world and contemporary artists

Typical Weekly Deliverables
- A research sprint of approximately 15 social content ideas, including relevant sources and visual references
- Developing selected ideas, or briefs supplied by the Avant Arte team, into finished social content, including copy and visual assets
- Working across two formats: higher-lift narrative carousels and simpler, text-led carousels
Freelance Fee
This role is paid per deliverable, with volume agreed in advance each week.
- Research sprint (~15 ideas with sources and visual references): £240
- Narrative carousel, including caption and one round of feedback: £100
- Text-led carousel, including caption and one round of feedback: £40
A typical week, for example one research sprint, one narrative carousel, and three text-led carousels, comes to around £460. Rates will be reviewed together after the first few weeks as formats are refined.
Further Information
This role can be performed remotely, but the successful candidate is welcome to work in person from our Shoreditch office if preferred.
