Step Social

Step Social is a fast-growing UK social media marketing agency. We create and manage organic social media content and Meta ad campaigns for a growing base of UK and US businesses.

We're a small, close-knit remote team, not a big agency. That means you'll work directly with the founder, have a real say in how we do things, and see the impact of your work straight away. If you'd love that and want to grow with a business rather than be a small cog in a large one, you'll fit right in.

We're looking for someone confident and personable on camera, who loves talking to clients as much as they love great social media content. You'll run demo calls with prospective clients, support our clients on Zoom, and help deliver our paid social service. If you haven't run paid ads before, that's fine. We'll teach you that side.

What you'll be doing

  • Running demo calls on Zoom with business owners who are interested in working with us, showing them what we do and helping them choose the right plan
  • Kick-off calls with new clients, support calls, and content and strategy conversations, including technical help such as connecting their profiles to our scheduling platform
  • Setting up, running and optimising Meta lead ad campaigns for our clients, with full training and support from us
  • Creating ad creatives and social content in Canva, and stepping in to produce or amend content when needed
  • Helping us launch and deliver new services as we grow, and supporting the wider team and clients across the operation

Essential

  • Confident, well-spoken and personable on camera, and comfortable leading Zoom calls with business owners
  • 2 to 3 years' experience in social media for businesses, ideally client-facing, whether agency, in-house or freelance
  • A clear understanding of the difference between organic and paid social content
  • Good judgement on where AI is and isn't appropriate in content, always putting the client's preferences first
  • An understanding of how content differs for UK and US businesses, from spelling and tone to dates, currency and cultural references
  • Confident in Canva
  • Must be UK-based

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

How to apply

Applications are through the form on our website, not by email or LinkedIn message: https://stepsocial.com/social-media-account-executive

Applications close at 5pm on Friday 2nd October 2026. We read them as they come in, so the earlier yours lands the better.

Have three things ready before you start the form:

  • A short video (60-90 seconds). This role is on camera every day, so this is your chance to show us how you come across. Introduce yourself, then pitch to a small business owner as if you were on a demo call with them: why should they use a social media management service? Upload it to Google Drive, Dropbox or WeTransfer and paste the link into the form, with sharing turned on.
  • A link to your portfolio, showing social media content, and any paid campaigns, you've worked on for businesses. Please make sure it's viewable.
  • Your answers to these three questions:
    • How many years have you worked in social media for businesses, and how much of that has been client-facing?
    • What's the difference between creating content for organic social and for paid ads?
    • What appeals to you about this role, and what are you most keen to learn or grow into?

Applications without both a short video and a link to your portfolio provided can't be considered, so have them ready before you start.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview on Zoom.

Good luck with your application!
