Shaping and Scaling EMJ’s Social Presence
This role is responsible for shaping and scaling EMJ’s social presence into a trusted, industry-leading platform for healthcare professionals. You will lead a bold, insight-driven social and brand strategy that grows a highly engaged global HCP community while ensuring a consistent, credible, and differentiated brand presence across all channels.
By combining audience growth, brand stewardship, content strategy, and community building, this role plays a key part in strengthening EMJ’s authority, visibility, and engagement within the healthcare sector.
Key Information
- Salary: £40-45k
- Location: This role is in our London/Moorgate office
- Working pattern: Hybrid, a minimum of 3 days in the office (5 days a week in the office during probation)
- Hours: 8.30am – 5pm, Mon-Fri
- Reports to: Senior Growth and Performance Marketing Manager
What you'll do?
- Social Growth Strategy: Own and deliver a multi-channel social strategy that drives audience growth, engagement, and reach across key HCP audiences through organic and employee-led advocacy.
- Brand Management: Ensure EMJ’s brand remains consistent, credible, and differentiated across all social platforms.
- Content Strategy: Develop social content pillars and storytelling frameworks that turn editorial and scientific content into engaging, platform-native content tailored to each channel.
- Community Building: Create and execute engagement strategies, including social listening and audience interaction, to build a trusted and active HCP community.
- Employee Advocacy & Thought Leadership: Lead leadership personal branding initiatives to amplify thought leadership and strengthen EMJ’s external voice.
- Creative Direction: Oversee the creative direction of social content, ensuring consistency in branding, messaging, and storytelling.
- Influencer Partnerships: Develop and manage influencer and advocate programmes, collaborating with HCPs, industry experts, and key opinion leaders to expand reach and credibility.
- Brand Reputation: Monitor sentiment and engagement to protect and enhance EMJ’s reputation within healthcare communities.

Who You Are:
- Social Media Strategy: 3-4 years' experience in social media strategy, brand management, audience growth, or community building.
- Platform & Algorithm Understanding: Strong knowledge of social platforms, algorithms, and the key drivers of audience engagement.
- Community Engagement & Building: Experience developing and managing professional online communities with an engaged follower base.
- Stakeholder Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
- Brand Voice & Narrative Management: Proven experience shaping and maintaining a consistent brand voice, messaging, and narrative across digital channels.
- Continuous Optimisation: A data-driven mindset with a passion for testing new formats, improving creative standards, and optimising performance.
- Proactive Trend Monitoring: Ability to stay ahead of emerging trends, platform developments, and algorithm changes, applying insights to drive measurable results.
