About The Venue

The Island Quarter has already become an iconic canal-side destination for Nottingham, boasting three storeys of restaurants, bars, and events space.

From casual all-day dining, drinks and entertainment at Binks Yard with its expansive outdoor terrace, stage and screen built for live performances and sports screening, to refined dining at the Cleaver & Wake restaurant and bar using the very best ingredients from across the British Isles, this multi-purpose venue is truly one of a kind.

The Island Quarter is managed by Rhubarb, part of Oak View Group.

Role Purpose

You will be the digital storyteller for The Island Quarter - creating standout content, managing multi-channel social media activity, and ensuring each venue’s personality shines through. This role blends creativity, hospitality understanding, trend awareness and strong organisational skills across a multi-site environment.

What You'll Be Doing

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Produce high-quality, engaging content (video, photography, reels, graphics, copy) that reflects the energy, diversity and premium positioning of The Island Quarter.
  • Capture on-site content across restaurants, bars, events, live music, activations and community initiatives.
  • Build compelling narratives around chefs, menus, suppliers, behind-the-scenes moments and guest experiences.

  • Manage daily posting, scheduling and optimisation across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and emerging platforms.
  • Maintain distinct tone-of-voice guidelines for each venue while ensuring consistency across the wider Island Quarter brand.
  • Monitor trends, hashtags, audio and platform updates to keep content fresh and competitive.

Campaigns & Activations

  • Plan and execute social campaigns for launches, seasonal events, new menus, partnerships and ticketed experiences.
  • Collaborate with marketing, PR, events and culinary teams to ensure content aligns with commercial goals.
  • Support paid social campaigns with creative assets and audience insights.

Community Engagement

  • Respond to comments, messages and guest interactions in a warm, brand-aligned manner.
  • Build relationships with local influencers, creators, press and community partners.
  • Identify UGC opportunities and encourage guest participation.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track performance across all platforms, producing weekly and monthly reports.
  • Use insights to refine content strategy, improve engagement and support commercial KPIs.
  • Benchmark against local competitors and national hospitality trends.

Brand Development

  • Uphold brand guidelines and visual identity across all content.
  • Contribute creative ideas for new formats, series, collaborations and storytelling angles.
  • Support the evolution of The Island Quarter’s digital presence as new venues open.

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrable experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing within hospitality, leisure, events, lifestyle, or a similar consumer-facing sector.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing videography, photography, Reels/TikTok content, and brand-aligned storytelling.
  • Proficiency with Canva, CapCut, Lightroom, or equivalent content-editing tools.
  • Solid understanding of social media algorithms, platform behaviours, and current digital trends.
  • Ability to produce high-quality, platform-native content quickly and consistently.
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone-of-voice across multiple brands.
  • Confident capturing content in fast-paced hospitality environments (service, events, live entertainment).

Good To Know

Nottingham's best mixed-use venue, operated by one of the most forward-thinking companies in live entertainment and hospitality, looking for someone to define what its culinary offering can be. Salary, benefits and package are competitive and will be discussed at interview.

Please note, this role is only open to candidates located in and with the right to work in the UK.

Salary is £30,000.
