Now Ayrshire Radio is a vibrant, commercial radio station broadcasting across Ayrshire and the west coast of Scotland. Launched in 2025, the station champions anthems from the 90s to today & our audience loves us. Now Ayrshire Radio is dedicated to serving our audience and alternative to "more of the same" from the networks- we are uniquely for Ayrshire, from Ayrshire.
Role Description
This full-time, on-site Social Media Content Creator role is based in Ayr. You'll already be a whizz at reels and stories, and understand instinctively that fast turnaround times are essential - work fast, work smart. The Social Media Content Creator will develop, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), TikTok, and others to promote shows, presenters, and station events. We do loads of love outside broadcasts, send out presenters on location to film content, visit local schools for School of the Week audio capture- so this is absolutely not a desk job.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Planning
- Audio/video editing
- Creating copy, images, and short-form video
- Responding to audience interactions and messages
The role involves collaborating with presenters, producers, and marketing colleagues to amplify local stories, campaigns, and live broadcasts, while maintaining a consistent brand voice and visual identity. We need a "Doer", not a talker. Show us what you've got...
Qualifications
- Ability to create and adapt social media content (copy, images, and short-form video) tailored to different platforms and audiences.
- Experience with social media management tools like Canva, Adobe PP, content scheduling, and basic analytics to track and optimize performance.
- Strong written communication skills with attention to tone, grammar, and clarity, especially for concise, on-brand messaging.
- Demonstrated creativity in storytelling, visual composition, and community engagement, ideally within media, entertainment, or a related field.
- Comfort working on-site in a fast-paced studio environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and meeting daily deadlines.
- Basic design or video editing skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express, mobile editing apps) are highly beneficial.
- Understanding of local culture and interest in Ayrshire’s communities, events, and music scene is an advantage.
- Relevant experience in social media, digital marketing, communications, or content creation; formal education in a related field is a plus but not required.
