MrQ is looking for a Social Media Content Creator

MrQ - we're an awesome, award-winning online casino launched in 2018. We're big on tech, big on performance, and most of all - big on fun. Over the years, we have experienced explosive growth - which means we need more rock stars to join our quest for total world domination.

MrQ is looking for a Social Media Content Creator to join our Marketing team; someone who lives and breathes social media, understands what makes people stop scrolling, and has the creative instinct to turn ideas, trends, and cultural moments into content people actually want to watch.

You’ll be a social-first creator, storyteller, and hands-on maker, taking content from idea through to shoot and final edit. You’ll bring fresh thinking, strong platform knowledge, and a sharp eye for what cuts through, creating everything from reactive, lo-fi TikToks and Reels to more polished content at our brand activations and through our football and boxing partnerships.

This is a role for someone who wants to make things, not just execute briefs. You’ll bring original ideas to the table, experiment with new formats, and play an active role in shaping how MrQ shows up across social.

We burn the rulebook when it gets in the way and say the things other brands are too nervous to. So, this isn't a role for someone waiting for a brief to land in their inbox.

We want fire: a challenger who pitches the idea everyone else thinks is too.

What You Will Do

  • Own the creative production for MrQ’s organic social channels, ideating, filming, and editing engaging social-first content that feels native to each platform using strong hooks, pacing, sound, and storytelling.
  • Bring a consistent pipeline of original ideas, scouting social platforms, creators, competitors, and internet culture to pitch fresh concepts to the team every week.
  • React quickly to trends and cultural moments, turning relevant opportunities into timely MrQ content.
  • Build recurring, ownable formats that audiences begin to recognize, come back for, and associate with MrQ.
  • Work across lo-fi and higher-production content, from reactive phone-shot videos through to professional-camera shoots for influencer campaigns, partnerships, and brand activations.
  • Support paid social creative where needed, including the production of UGC-style content and adapting strong organic ideas into formats suitable for paid placements.
  • Use performance insight to understand what's resonating and sharpen future creative.
  • Get in front of the camera when an idea needs a face, featuring in content alongside talent or on your own.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For

Above everything else, we're looking for strong social content instincts. Your work should show us you understand what makes great social content, not just what makes a beautifully shot video.

  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end social content creation, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
  • Proficiency in video editing and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Suite, CapCut, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube) and what drives engagement on each.
  • Confident behind the camera, not just an iPhone, with experience leading the production elements of content shoots.
  • Flexibility to work around live moments to help capture our brand activations at events.
  • Strong examples of creating social-first content are required.
  • Comfortable appearing in content yourself and directing others on camera. You don't need to be a presenter or influencer.

Must have

  • A portfolio that proves it. Social-first work you came up with, shot, directed, and edited yourself. You can tell us how it performed as well as how it looks.
  • Self-shooting on proper kit. You're confident with mirrorless and cinema cameras, lenses, lighting, and clean audio. You shoot on a phone when that's the right call, not because it's all you can use.
  • Editing and finishing to a high standard. Premiere Pro and After Effects (or DaVinci Resolve), plus CapCut for speed. You're strong on pacing, sound design, color, captions, and motion graphics.
  • You know each platform. You know what works on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube (Shorts and long-form), and Facebook: hooks, formats, pacing, and which trends to jump on or leave alone. You can cut one shoot to suit each platform.
  • Your own ideas. You pitch concepts as well as delivering briefs, and you have the comic timing and edit instincts to make a challenger brand land on screen.
  • Live and on location. You're flexible about occasionally working evenings and weekends around live moments like matchdays, gigs, and brand activations, and you capture and turn round content on the ground.
  • Happy working within the rules. We're a regulated gambling brand, so our content has hard lines. For example, nobody who looks under 25 can play a significant role, and we never glamorize gambling. You don't need to know the rulebook on day one, but you do need to work within it.

  • Experience in a regulated industry such as gambling, alcohol, or financial services, and working knowledge of the ASA/CAP rules.
  • Sport and live entertainment. Matchday content, fan culture, and working around the media rules of clubs, players, and venues.
  • Directing people on camera. Getting a natural performance quickly from non-actors, players, presenters, and creators. Bonus if you're comfortable presenting or doing voiceover yourself.
  • Working with creators and influencers. Briefing them, producing with them, and shooting alongside them.
  • Bringing in support. Booking and managing freelance crew, kit hire, and small production budgets when a job outgrows one person. Maybe even a little black book of people you trust.
  • Stills photography alongside video on the same shoot.
  • Full UK driving licence, for getting kit to venues around the country.
