Job Summary:
The Social Media Content Creator creates engaging, high-quality content that brings the Bucknell story to life across the University's social media channels. Creates and supports community engagement, and executes social media initiatives that strengthen Bucknell's digital presence. Through authentic storytelling, compelling visuals, and platform-specific content, the Social Media Content Creator helps connect with prospective students, alumni, parents, and other key audiences while advancing the University's strategic communication goals.

This role will report to the Social Media Manager
Work Schedule:
- Will include occasional evenings and weekends
- Casual employee (non-benefit eligible), typically working 10-20 hours per week, on an as needed basis
- May work up to 1,000 hours annually
Work Setting:
- Hybrid with both on and off campus work expected
What You Will Do:
- Creates engaging photo, video, graphics and written content for Bucknell University's official social media channels – including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and more.
- Manages the publishing and execution of content across priority platforms in collaboration team members.
- Captures, edits and produces short-form multimedia content optimized for each platform using various software tools.
- Develops creative content concepts and collaborates with the editorial and content strategy team to identify compelling student, faculty and staff stories.
- Writes platform-specific captions and prepares content for review, scheduling and publishing.
- Monitors comments, directs messages and engagement opportunities, responding appropriately or escalating issues as needed.
- Provides live social media coverage and capture content at campus events.
- Ensures all content reflects Bucknell's brand standards while maintaining an authentic, audience-focused voice.
- Perform other duties that support the University's digital communications and social media strategy.

What You Will Bring:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field.
- Minimum one year of professional experience managing social media for a brand, organization or agency.
Preferred:
- Experience managing or contributing to organizational or brand social media accounts.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva or similar creative tools.
- Strong understanding of platform-specific content strategies, emerging trends and social media best practices.
- Experience in higher education communications or student-focused marketing.
Knowledge Areas and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience creating engaging content for Instagram, TikTok and other major social media platforms.
- Strong photography, videography and mobile content creation skills.
- Experience editing short-form video using CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software.
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional creative teams.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move throughout campus and occasionally lift or transport photography/video equipment.

25.00-25.00
The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Credit for full-time benefits eligible employment at other institutions of higher education will be applied to waiting periods.
