Volunteer for a startup making conservation mainstream! 🌿🇳🇿

Conservation Amplified connects communities to local environmental action through storytelling, digital campaigns, and conservation adventures across Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Challenge

Aotearoa New Zealand’s biodiversity is declining rapidly, leaving underfunded grassroots groups to protect ecosystems on less than 0.5% of the national budget. While 88% of citizens care deeply about nature, over 80% do not know how to help locally, leaving existing efforts reliant on a small, aging volunteer base. Without dedicated media and communications to engage younger, underrepresented demographics, vital restoration projects face severe succession risks and falling community support.

The Solution

Conservation Amplified bridges this gap through Community Conservation Campaigns that turn passive public concern into active participation. By producing podcasts, field documentaries, and conservation adventures, the platform breaks out of environmental echo chambers to inspire new audiences under 40. By handling campaign outreach, media coverage, and volunteer onboarding for local groups, Conservation Amplified frees fieldwork teams to focus on ecological restoration while building a multi-generational movement to safeguard biodiversity.

Role (Volunteer, unpaid): Social Media Content Creator

Role Description

Local community groups are doing extraordinary things to help nature recover in Aotearoa New Zealand, but they often don’t have the time or skills to share their stories. As a result, the wider public often doesn't see their incredible work, and people who could get involved aren’t aware of what’s happening around them.

Conservation Amplified is a New Zealand-based charity on a mission to “Make Conservation Mainstream” by partnering with the people who are helping nature and bringing a megaphone to their work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
