Step Social
Step Social is a fast-growing UK social media marketing agency. We create and manage organic social media content and Meta ad campaigns for a growing base of UK and US businesses.
We're a small, close-knit remote team, not a big agency. That means you'll work directly with the founder, have a real say in how we do things, and see your work go live every week. If you'd love that and want to grow with a business rather than be a small cog in a large one, you'll fit right in.
We're looking for someone with a sharp eye for great social media content and the Canva skills to fix it themselves. You'll be the final quality check on everything we create for our clients, working behind the scenes with our creative team. There are no sales and no client video calls, so if you love great content and take pride in the details, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing:
- Quality-checking static posts, videos and stories before they reach clients: designs, captions, facts, statistics and spelling, in UK or US English depending on the client
- Fixing issues directly in Canva rather than sending them back, making sure every post matches the client's brand, preferences and tone of voice
- Giving clear, constructive feedback to our content creators, so the standard keeps getting better week after week
- Scheduling approved content, helping new clients get set up, and sending their login details
- Handling straightforward, content-related requests from clients in writing, with full training provided

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

How to apply:
Applications are through the form on our website, not by email or LinkedIn message: https://stepsocial.com/social-media-content-editor
Applications close at 5pm on Friday 2nd October 2026. We read them as they come in, so the earlier yours lands the better.
Have three things ready before you start the form:
- A short video (60-90 seconds). This role isn't on camera, but we hire on personality, so we'd love to meet you. Introduce yourself, tell us about your experience creating content for businesses, and tell us about one social media post you think is brilliant, and why. Upload it to Google Drive, Dropbox or WeTransfer and paste the link into the form, with sharing turned on.
- A link to your portfolio, showing social media content you've created for businesses. Please make sure it's viewable.
- Your answers to these three questions:
- How long have you been creating social media content for businesses, and which scheduling tools have you used?
- What is the most complex piece of content you've created in Canva, and how do you keep your work on-brand and looking professional?
- What appeals to you about this role?
Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete a short practical task in Canva.
Good luck with your application!
