Social Media & Content Executive

Location: Yeadon, Leeds
Salary: £27,000 per year
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Working arrangement: Primarily office-based

The Role

Broadwise Solutions is looking for a Social Media & Content Executive to join our growing creative and digital agency.

This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys creating content, managing social channels and making things happen.

Your main focus will be supporting several client brands with social media and content creation.

A large part of your initial workload will involve creating content for the beauty, skincare and consumer product brands of one of our established manufacturing clients. You will also support Broadwise and our wider B2B, manufacturing and industrial clients.

You will help plan content, film it, edit it, design it, write it, publish it and learn from how it performs.

You will also support wider digital marketing activity, including website content, creator collaborations, email campaigns, client projects and Broadwise’s own marketing.

This is not a role where you will receive a perfect brief for every task.

We are a small company, so priorities can change quickly. You will need to ask good questions, use your judgement and take ownership of getting work finished.

You will work closely with Liam, the agency director.

You will receive support and guidance, but we are looking for someone who can increasingly manage their own workload and become a trusted part of the business.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Planning and managing social media content for several brands
  • Developing monthly content ideas and social media calendars
  • Filming short-form video, product demonstrations and behind-the-scenes content
  • Appearing on camera where the content requires it
  • Editing Instagram Reels, TikToks, Stories and other social-first videos
  • Designing Instagram carousels, social graphics and other creative assets
  • Writing captions, posts and straightforward marketing copy
  • Scheduling and publishing content
  • Supporting comments, messages and community activity
  • Helping coordinate gifted products, creators and user-generated content
  • Supporting content shoots and client visits
  • Reviewing basic social performance and identifying improvements
  • Making straightforward website and ecommerce content updates
  • Supporting email marketing and other digital campaigns
  • Helping produce content for Broadwise itself
  • Attending occasional client meetings, networking events and trade shows
  • Taking on other creative and marketing work as the agency grows

Occasional early starts or evening work may be required for client shoots, events or trade shows.

Reasonable notice will be given where possible, and working hours will be adjusted accordingly.

The exact balance of the role will change over time. That is part of the opportunity.

Who We Are Looking For

You do not need to be an expert in every area.

But you should already have practical experience creating content and supporting social media or digital marketing activity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You may currently work in an agency, an internal marketing team, a consumer brand or as a freelancer.

You should be:

  • Comfortable filming content yourself
  • Willing and confident enough to appear on camera regularly
  • Able to edit engaging short-form video
  • Able to create clean, well-presented social graphics and carousels
  • Familiar with Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • A clear and confident writer
  • Visually aware, with a good eye for presentation
  • Organised enough to manage several brands and deadlines
  • Comfortable learning new tools and systems
  • Willing to ask questions, then take responsibility
  • Confident speaking with clients, creators and contributors
  • Happy working in a small business where everyone gets stuck in
  • Interested in helping build the role rather than simply inheriting one

We are not looking for someone who waits to be told every step.

We are looking for someone with judgement, curiosity, common sense and gumption.

Experience

We expect the right person will have around one to three years of relevant experience.

However, the quality of your work matters more than the exact number of years.

You should be able to show examples of content you have personally planned, filmed, written, designed or edited.

Experience with some of the following would be useful:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Canva
  • CapCut or similar video-editing software
  • Meta Business Suite
  • TikTok
  • WordPress or WooCommerce
  • Email marketing platforms
  • Basic photography
  • Consumer products, beauty or skincare
  • B2B or manufacturing marketing
  • Working in a creative or digital agency

Packaging or wider graphic design experience would be useful, but it is not essential.

A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel independently to client sites are highly desirable, but not essential.

Travel to client sites may occasionally require the use of a personal vehicle or public transport. Approved mileage and reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first few months, you will begin taking ownership of recurring social media and content activity.

Over time, we want you to become someone clients know, trust and feel comfortable speaking with directly.

You will help us improve the quality and consistency of our work, build better systems and create the capacity for Broadwise to grow.

There is genuine room for this role to develop.

As the company grows, the position could expand into greater responsibility for client accounts, content strategy, campaign management and future team members.

Salary, Hours and Benefits

The starting salary is £27,000 per year, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate.

There will be a formal salary and progression review after the six-month probationary period.

The role is Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.

This is a 35-hour paid working week.

The position is full-time and permanent, with a six-month probationary period.

Benefits include:

  • 25 days’ annual leave plus UK bank holidays
  • Workplace pension
  • Company laptop and required software
  • Access to content creation and filming equipment
  • Paid mileage and reasonable expenses for approved client travel
  • Relevant training and development
  • Formal salary and progression review after probation
  • Opportunities to attend client visits, networking events and trade shows
  • Direct involvement in shaping and growing the agency
  • Casual dress

There is no fixed weekly home-working day.

Home working is not a contractual entitlement and may be withdrawn where business or client requirements change.
