The Role
You’ll play an integral role in our growing marketing team, working alongside our Marketing Manager and Marketing Campaign Executive, as well as a network of specialist creative and digital partners.
This is a hands-on role with plenty of room to make your mark. You’ll take ownership of DCL’s social media channels and the content that brings our brand to life – from coming up with the idea, to writing the copy, creating the artwork, shooting the video and seeing how it performs. We’re looking for someone who can spot a good story, turn a complicated insurance topic into something people want to read or watch, and create content that feels right for the platform it’s on.
You’ll own the day-to-day development and delivery of platform-relevant content across DCL’s social channels, with a particular focus on LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok.
You’ll work closely with our people across the business, from underwriters and claims experts to our BDMs and leadership team, finding the stories, insight and expertise that can become great content.
That means no two days will look quite the same. One day you might be filming an underwriter explaining a tricky commercial motor risk; the next you could be turning a claims insight into a punchy LinkedIn post or creating a reel from event footage.
What You’ll be Responsible for
- Own DCL’s social media content from idea through to publication, creating content that is useful, engaging and relevant to each platform.
- Come up with ideas – lots of them. Spot opportunities, trends, stories and conversations that DCL can credibly join.
- Write compelling copy that sounds like us and makes commercial motor insurance easier to understand.
- Create engaging visual content, including graphics, carousels, Reels, short-form video and other social-first formats.
- Shoot and edit video, from quick pieces of reactive content through to more considered long-form and campaign content.
- Capture content at DCL’s offices, events and shoots, making sure we’re getting the most from the people and opportunities around us.
- Plan and manage the social content calendar, ensuring we have a consistent flow of relevant content across our channels.
- Own our social communities, monitoring comments and messages, responding where appropriate and looking for opportunities to grow meaningful engagement.
- Use social analytics to understand what’s working, reporting on performance and using those insights to continually improve our content.
- Stay ahead of social trends, formats and platform developments, knowing when something is worth jumping on, and when it really isn’t.
- Work with colleagues and subject matter experts across DCL to turn their knowledge into content that brokers and policyholders can easily understand and engage with.
- Create and maintain design templates and digital assets to keep our content consistent and recognisable.
- Support the Marketing Manager and wider team with occasional creative, campaign and marketing tasks.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
