Position Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media & Content Marketing Executive position within the Communications (Digital) department based at HQ.
Main Responsibilities
The role exists to grow organic income, reach, and engagement from Human Appeal's established social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, X/Twitter, LinkedIn and Snapchat), and rebuilding these channels as strong, always-on demand-generation and lead-generation engines for the charity. Using audience cohorts and PAC (Platforms, Algorithms and Culture) signals as the daily brief for content, and the Smart Insights RACE (Reach, Act, Convert, Engage) framework to structure KPIs, the post-holder plans a balanced content mix using a content marketing matrix (educate, entertain, inspire and convince) to drive interactivity, conversions, and long-term audience loyalty. The role works hand-in-hand with the Social Media Fundraising Executive so that validated organic content is shared with Human Appeal's digital agency for amplification through paid media, maximising overall social media income and efficiency. We aim to achieve 1/3 of annual income from organic social media annually, and specific annual growth targets for reach, engagement, and income are agreed with the Social Media Associate Manager each year. Generative AI tools are used throughout - from ideation and scripting to captioning, versioning, and reporting - to increase the volume, speed, and relevance of content without compromising Human Appeal's tone, quality, brand style guide, or compliance standards. All activity is delivered in line with Human Appeal's global social media and AI policy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
