Our Head Office department is in the heart of Piccadilly and occupies the 5th & 6th floor of our beautiful flagship store. This central London location offers so much to explore including restaurants, bars, cultural sites, shopping and more, and only a short walk from the Green Park Tube Station and plenty of bus stops.
The Senior Social Media Executive
The Senior Social Media Executive is a creative and varied role supporting the social team in organic content delivery across social media platforms. The role is key to not only growing awareness of the brand but also sustaining conversation with our global audience. We are looking for our next social media superstar, we are looking for someone creative to support the creation of original content (video & imagery), scheduling across multiple social channels and monitoring performance. You will need to be aware of the commercial goals of the business and will play a pivotal role in the wider brand marketing team. From this you will be able to make recommendations and create new engagement strategies that encompass the F&M brand and inspire potential customers.
Key Accountabilities
- Support in the planning and management of the organic content calendar for Fortnum’s social media accounts for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, Pinterest, and YouTube.
- Collaborate with the wider team on new creative content and copy in support of F&M hospitality and retail (online and in-store).
- Plan, write and produce social first-content including posts, short form video, stories, Reels, copy, and community content (at times this may require you to appear in content).
- Monitor comments, likes, and messages on our social media accounts; reply to queries promptly and politely or passing them onto relevant team members to handle.
- Weekly and monthly analysis of performance of all content and trends, across all platforms; sharing findings with the wider team for planning and decision-making.
- Supporting the Social Media Lead in delivering the strategy for the channel and wider business area.
- Attend events in our Food & Drink Studio and visit external suppliers/shoots and act as our social lead on the day.
- Support a forward-looking content calendar aligned to campaigns, product launches and brand moments.

Additional responsibilities
- Use of platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Sprout Social for content scheduling and updates.
- Support in campaign planning, including the social plan to support new products & activations.
- Apply necessary tracking links to all social activity for ease of analysis.
- Assist with the day-to-day administration tasks.
- Support with sales orders on D365.
- Keep up to date with the latest social trends. Conduct detailed competitor and trend analysis reports and confidently present to wider marketing and buying teams.
- Support the wider Digital Marketing team in delivering channel-holistic results.
- Contribute to ideation and execution of social first campaigns.
- Work closely with cross functional teams including buying & merchandising, hospitality, brand, PR, digital, creative and CRM.
Role Specific Criteria (Experience/Behaviours/Technical Ability)
Required traits
- Proven experience in a social media role, ideally with ownership of brand channels.
- Deep understanding of key social channels including Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Deep understanding of content creation, social storytelling, and visual communication.
- Skilled in writing engaging, platform-appropriate copy.
- Confident with analytics and translating data into actionable insights.
- Experience with short form video creation.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, reactive environment.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Passionate, ambitious, with a love of learning & takes pride in all they do.
- Attention to detail; always looking to improve.
- Confident and self-motivated.
- A creative mind, who can think of new and exciting ideas for our channels and campaigns.
- Excellent time management.
- Experience in a fast-paced retail marketing environment.
- Excellent literacy skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong multi-tasking abilities and with an ability to prioritise, work to tight deadlines in a calm and effective way whilst remaining organised.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes.
- Understanding of Videography and video editing, experience using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite / Cap Cut experience or Premier Pro and editing tools within Instagram (Reels, TikTok, and infeed video editing) is a plus.
- An understanding and appreciation of the Fortnum & Mason brand.
- 2-3 years working in a similar role.
