Job Opportunity: Social Media Coordinator and Strategist
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Social Media Coordinator and Strategist based in the United Kingdom.
Join a fast-paced, fully remote digital media environment where social content reaches large and diverse online audiences. In this role, you’ll help manage the daily flow of content across major social platforms, ensuring posts are timely, engaging, and aligned with established brand standards. You’ll collaborate closely with social media and editorial teams to respond quickly to breaking news while maintaining a steady stream of evergreen and high-performing content. The position combines hands-on publishing with opportunities to contribute to social media strategy and performance analysis. You’ll work across multiple content formats, from links and images to videos and discussion-driven posts. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized and socially savvy professional who enjoys working in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Accountabilities
- Schedule and manage daily content across Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube, including breaking news, evergreen posts, discussion content, and recirculated high-performing posts.
- Coordinate with social media and editorial teams to ensure content is published accurately, consistently, and on schedule.
- Adapt publishing plans quickly in response to breaking news, trending topics, platform changes, and other time-sensitive developments.
- Write engaging captions and social copy that encourage audience interaction while maintaining the appropriate brand voice and editorial standards.
- Monitor social media performance and contribute insights that can help improve content strategy, engagement, and reach.
- Learn and effectively use scheduling, media library, and content management tools, including systems for tagging, organizing, and retrieving content.
- Support the broader social media strategy by identifying opportunities to optimize publishing practices and audience engagement.
- Maintain flexibility around working hours when major events or breaking news require additional coverage or schedule adjustments.

Requirements
- Familiarity with and enthusiasm for major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, with a consistent focus on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to manage multiple publishing tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to create concise, engaging social media copy.
- Ability to quickly learn new software, scheduling platforms, content management systems, and evolving social media practices.
- Comfortable adapting working schedules when required by breaking news, special events, platform developments, or changing audience behavior.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote, desktop-based environment while collaborating closely with distributed teams.
- Familiarity with social media scheduling or analytics tools such as TrueAnthem, Buffer, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, or similar platforms is an advantage.
- Basic graphic design or video editing experience using Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, or comparable tools is a plus.
- A genuine interest in digital media, social trends, online communities, and audience engagement is highly desirable.
