Line Manager: Head of Content

Overview

We're looking for a Social Media Executive to join our team.

The role will be split across content creation (75%) and social media management (25%).

We’re after someone creative with experience in content creation who knows what content works best on each social media platform. Someone who understands what will resonate with the right audience, grab their attention, and keep them coming back for more. If you’re nodding your head right now, this could be you.

Just to be sure, here's what your day-to-day will typically include:

  • Contribute to creative sessions used to plan social campaigns, concepts, and monthly content plans. As part of this, you’ll be expected to make recommendations for content that supports client’s social media strategy and helps meet their overall objectives.
  • Create organic social media content (primary platforms: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn) in video, image, and graphic formats. Whether in the office, at home, an outdoor space suitable for the content, or on-site at one of our client's venues.
  • Work closely with the Head of Content to plan photoshoots - this includes researching ideas that benefit the client’s social strategy and current campaign/theme, writing up briefs, communicating requirements and resources, assisting with agendas, and ensuring everything is prepared for the shoot day.
  • Use editing tools like Canva, Capcut, and any other tools you feel will make the content better.
  • Write social media copy following best practices and adhering to the brand’s tone of voice.
  • Manage social content calendars in Planable (our content planning tool), ensuring posts are planned, approved, scheduled, and delivered on time.
  • Community management of social media channels with a big focus on building new relationships, pushing the client’s personality, and growing the platforms.
  • Proactively stay on top of trends, platform updates, competitor activity, and cultural moments, using these insights to test new approaches and spot opportunities for timely, reactive content.
  • Keep an eye out for any relevant influencers/partnerships that you think would be a good fit for our client’s brands.
  • Management of Good n' Proper’s social channels, including content planning and creation.
  • When needed, create content for paid media assets working to a brief set by the Head of Paid Media. This could either be graphic assets or more UGC-led content.
  • Monitor the results of social activity to inform future marketing campaigns and decisions.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This job will require traveling to clients’ premises and various locations to get social media content. There would also be an expectation to use any reasonable space (including your home) for lifestyle content. As one of our clients is a brand predominantly used in homes, specifically in the kitchen, the content needs to naturally reflect this.

About You

We won’t sum someone up into a tick-box. We'll outline the experience we're after, but after that, we want you to bring every single part of your unique self that makes you, you.

We're looking for someone with the following work experience/skills:

  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience creating content for social media. Whether it’s been in agency, in-house, or a hobby on your own social media channels - that’s fine too.
  • Experience working with online design tools, such as Canva and Capcut.
  • The ability to think creatively and the confidence to say what’s running through your head, no matter how wild it seems (sometimes these are where the best ideas are born).
  • A natural knack for keeping on top of social and industry trends.

About Us

The first thing you should know about us is that we're not remarkably different or groundbreaking. Ironically, that's what makes us different to a lot of marketing agencies out there. We cut the fluff and marketing jargon, and instead, we speak to people like human beings (it’s much easier that way).

We simply give people our honest opinion, backed by research, knowledge, and everything we’ve learned along the way.

So at no point will we ask you to 'move the needle' or make something ‘go viral'. If that's what you were hoping for, we probably aren't going to live up to your expectations 😬

Benefits

(this is where the trending tune comes in: "Let's skip to the good part BING BING" ):

  • Flexible working hours, meaning you can start any time between 8 and 11am (you do you)
  • Hybrid working (home, office, sofa, floor. Again, you do you). We just ask that you work from the office twice a week. If you want to do more, that’s all good with us.
  • Matched pension - you pay into it, we'll match it on top of your normal salary. Be the responsible adult now that your future self would want you to be…🙄
  • MacBook. Is Windows still a thing?
  • We'll give you the time to develop the skills you want to know more about. If you're interested in something, go for it! Go down a rabbit hole.
  • A fun, relaxed working atmosphere in an office space right next to The University of Leeds campus
  • The option to do fun things with the team. Meals, drinks, coffee, outings. We like to do stuff.
  • Two streaming services paid for every month (Netflix, Spotify, etc.)
