Welcome to Motel
Our story began during a road trip in the 1990s, where our founders, Will and Andy, travelled across America collecting vintage items while living out of motels. They started purchasing vintage clothing in the USA and selling it wholesale, which eventually led to the creation of stores. From there, they began designing reworked vintage pieces, and thus, Motel was born. Over 30 years and a team of 200+ people later, every piece of clothing we make is created with the same spirit of fun, freedom and adventure as the road trip that first defined the brand. We’re still ambitious and independent, but now we’re a global team - we work from an operational base in Worcester, a design studio in London and a creative studio in Bali.
The role
Our Social Media Executive is responsible for developing, managing, and executing best-in-class social media strategies that support Motel’s brand direction, campaign messaging, and commercial goals. This role champions our social presence across all channels, driving community engagement, storytelling, and conversion through creative, trend-led content.
Main tasks & responsibilities
- Assist in building and executing weekly/monthly content calendars across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, and emerging platforms.
- Work cross-functionally with design, e-commerce, and marketing teams to source and organise creative assets in line with campaign objectives.
- Publish and monitor content across all platforms, ensuring timely delivery, brand consistency, and optimal performance.
- Support the assistant in managing daily interactions (DMs, comments, tags), flagging trends and insights to the manager.
- Assist in weekly performance reporting, analysing engagement, reach, and growth metrics, and identifying actionable takeaways.
- Stay on top of Gen Z trends, platform updates, and influencer content to help inform creative and strategy.
- Collaborate with the wider team to support influencer campaigns, product launches, and social activations.
- Proactively identify growth opportunities on existing and emerging platforms and make recommendations to the manager.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
