This role is pivotal in delivering a social-first approach to customer engagement at OS. As a Social Media Executive, you’ll be part of a social media team who are at the forefront of our digital presence, engaging with communities across platforms to drive awareness, trust, and relevance for our business, public sector, and consumer offerings.
About the role
This role is an opportunity to make a genuine contribution to OS's mission.
You'll create engaging, social-first content, build relationships with creators, influencers, thought leaders and employee advocates, to grow our community and connect them to Ordnance Survey's products, services and purpose.
You’ll help shape how audiences experience OS across social. You'll spot emerging trends and cultural moments. Aligning social and creator activity to broader channel objectives across business, public sector and consumer, to help audiences discover, understand and realise value from OS products and services.
Working closely with colleagues across OS, external agencies and creator partners, you'll support content planning, outreach, campaign delivery and performance reporting. Combining creativity with commercial thinking, you'll use audience insights and data to optimise performance, strengthen engagement and bring our stories, campaigns and products to life through social-first content and authentic partnerships.
In this role, you could be:
- Creating and publishing social-first content across multiple platforms
- Working with creators, ambassadors and employees to tell authentic OS stories
- Capturing content for events, projects and campaigns
- Spotting and responding to trends and cultural moments
- Growing community and advocacy programmes, including our OS Champions
- Using data and insights to optimise performance
- Turning mapping, data and technology topics into engaging, accessible content

What we’re looking for
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate the skills and experience needed for this role and who aligns with our principles.
You'll bring:
- A track record of creating engaging social content
- Experience working with creators, influencers and employee advocacy
- Strong knowledge of social platforms, trends and audience behaviours
- Experience delivering content and campaigns from idea to execution
- Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills
- A creative eye and passion for digital storytelling
Nice to have:
- Photography, video or design skills
- An interest in data, technology, innovation, and the outdoors
- Confidence creating content both behind and in front of the camera
Tools, systems or technologies:

Location & working pattern

- Interview dates: Initial screening calls will take place up to 12 October. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to a formal competency-based interview, including a presentation, on 22 and 23 October.
