You will mentor social producers and editors while collaborating closely with editorial, video, design, and audience teams. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of social performance within a dynamic, high-impact digital media environment.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the social media strategy and daily execution for US politics, national and global news, elections, and major current affairs.
  • Develop short- and long-term social coverage plans around breaking news, political developments, and significant news cycles.
  • Monitor breaking stories and ensure timely, accurate, engaging, and platform-appropriate publishing across social channels.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop social media producers and editors while maintaining high standards of performance and quality.
  • Develop platform-specific strategies and content approaches for Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging platforms.
  • Identify compelling story angles, hooks, headlines, captions, thumbnails, and visual treatments designed to maximize audience engagement while protecting editorial integrity.
  • Partner with editorial, video, design, and audience development teams to create and distribute high-performing content.
  • Monitor platform trends, algorithm changes, audience behavior, and emerging formats to continuously refine social strategies.
  • Analyze performance data to identify opportunities and optimize content, engagement, and audience growth.
  • Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and development of social media talent.
  • Ensure consistency in brand voice, publishing standards, editorial quality, and social media best practices.
  • Maintain effective communication across teams and ensure social activity supports broader editorial priorities.
  • Take ownership of social audience growth, engagement, and overall channel performance.
  • Remain adaptable and responsive during breaking news, elections, major political events, and other high-impact situations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
