Join Barclaycard Payments as a Social Media Manager on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract
Play a key role in shaping and delivering our social media strategy across the payments business. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced social media professional to take ownership of high-profile campaigns, drive brand engagement, and influence how Barclaycard Payments connects with customers and industry audiences.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, agency partners, influencers, and content creators, you will help deliver commercially impactful social media initiatives that support both brand and business objectives. This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced environment, with the autonomy to lead strategy and execution from day one.
To be successful as a Social Media Manager, you should have the following essential skills:
- Proven experience developing and delivering social media strategies, with the ability to quickly take ownership and drive results.
- Strong experience within the payments industry, with a solid understanding of the market landscape, customer trends, and key industry developments.
- Demonstrable experience managing external agency partners, including ownership of agency scope, resource planning, performance management, and budget oversight.
- Experience working with influencers, content creators, and strategic partnerships to enhance brand reach and engagement.
- Commercially minded approach with expertise across the full marketing funnel, balancing brand-building activity with measurable business outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across senior internal teams, agencies, and external partners.

Location: London Westferry
Purpose of the role
To plan, develop and implement brand strategies, based on research and analysis, that align with the overall business objectives to protect and enhance its market presence and position
Accountabilities
- Development and maintenance of brand assets and guidelines that define how the brand looks, sounds and feels across all touchpoints.
- Collaboration with creative teams, advertising agencies, and other partners (internal and external) to create compelling and effective brand campaigns that enhance brand awareness, loyalty and engagement.
- Analyse brand performance KPIs, brand competitiveness and product trends in the marketplace.
- Budget management (if applicable) for brand-related activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and a positive return on investment.

- Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
- Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
- Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
- Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
