Location: Cheapside, London
Reports to: Head of Communications, UK&I
About the Role
We’re looking for a creative, data-driven Social Media Manager to join our dynamic UKI marketing team. This role is central to building brand awareness and engagement across LinkedIn and other key platforms, championing employee advocacy, and amplifying both UK-led campaigns and global content.
You’ll be a key player in bringing our flagship campaigns - like the Hays Salary Guide - to life through compelling storytelling, innovative content formats, and strategic amplification. You’ll also represent the UKI region in our global social media competency group, collaborating with peers across our international network to share best practices and drive excellence.
We’re looking for someone who is truly passionate about social media, eager to drive our activity forward, experiment with new approaches, and continuously learn and evolve in line with platform trends and audience behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead LinkedIn strategy for the UKI region, driving brand awareness, engagement, and follower growth.
- Develop and execute content strategies across Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant platforms, ensuring channel-specific optimisation.
- Manage and develop LinkedIn content for the UK&I CEO and senior business leaders, while supporting thought leadership and advocacy activity across the wider UK&I business.
- Champion employee advocacy, working closely with internal stakeholders to activate our people as brand ambassadors.
- Collaborate with the UKI marketing team to bring campaigns to life through social-first content, including video, graphics, and copy.
- Partner with the global social media team to amplify global content and ensure regional relevance.
- Represent UKI in the global social media centre of excellence, contributing to shared learning and innovation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal communications, training, sales enablement, and other teams to align messaging and maximise impact.
- Monitor and report on performance metrics, using insights to continuously optimise content and strategy.
- Stay ahead of platform trends, algorithm changes, and emerging formats - especially in video and visual storytelling.
- Work closely with senior business stakeholders, providing strategic guidance and acting as a trusted social media expert.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
