Overview
Our client, an insurer, is seeking a Social Media Manager to lead and develop its organic social media strategy across multiple markets. With LinkedIn as the primary channel, you will set the direction for content, governance, audience engagement and performance measurement.
This is a high-impact role within the Digital Marketing function, offering ownership of social media strategy from end to end. You will work with marketing, communications, business leaders and external partners to strengthen brand reputation, engagement and commercial outcomes, while identifying opportunities across emerging platforms and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own the organic social media strategy, with LinkedIn as the primary channel.
- Define content strategy, tone of voice, storytelling principles and social media best practice.
- Translate business priorities into compelling, audience-focused social content and campaigns.
- Lead planning, governance and coordination across regions to improve consistency and alignment.
- Own and manage the international social media calendar, prioritising content and opportunities.
- Act as a social media centre of expertise, advising and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Establish governance frameworks covering regulatory requirements, brand standards and reputational considerations.
- Use analytics and audience insights to optimise performance and inform future strategy.
- Evaluate emerging platforms, technologies and trends, including AI and digital tools that could improve content creation, planning, efficiency and engagement.

Requirements
- Strong experience developing and delivering social media strategies, particularly for B2B audiences.
- Experience within financial services, insurance, banking or another regulated industry.
- Proven experience building, transforming or evolving social media channels or programmes.
- Deep understanding of LinkedIn and how social media supports brand reputation, engagement and business outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the confidence to advise, influence and challenge senior leaders.
- Strong analytical skills and experience turning insights into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication, storytelling and content skills.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Interest in emerging technologies, including AI, and their application to social media strategy and delivery.
- Ability to work autonomously while building effective partnerships across the organisation.
