About us: Who is GBM Group I hear you ask? Well, you probably already know who we are, without realising it! We own and operate a network of highly-engaged youth communities on social media.

We have numerous pages including Great British Memes, That Girl Page, That Student Page and MORE, which across all social channels reach over 500 million every month. The vast majority of our social following also comes from within our home market - the UK.

At GBM, we take pride in what we do and make sure the client's needs are met while considering the needs and wants of our nurtured communities/audiences. All campaigns have a lot of care and attention to detail with nothing going live unless the GBM team are 100% happy with everything.

So to sum it up for ya, we are a young start-up who are chronically online making organic and paid memes and video content for the masses…

Sound like a bit of you? Read below!

The role: We’re looking for an experienced, creative Social Media Manager to join our growing Content team and support the day-to-day delivery and management of high-impact content across the GBM network.

Working closely with the Social Media & Editorial Manager and wider Content team, you’ll play an important role in managing our social pages, supporting content planning and execution, and ensuring the GBM network continues to produce consistent, engaging and high-quality content.

Our ideal candidate has a strong background in social media, content creation and page management. You’ll have a deep understanding of social media culture, trends and repeatable formats, and bring a minimum of 4 years’ experience working in-house, within a social publisher, agency or on the content creation side. You live for social, thrive in fast-paced environments and understand how to create and curate content that connects with real audiences.

You’ll work closely with the Social Media & Editorial Manager, Founder, Partnerships and Editorial teams, as well as our network of freelance content creators.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring our pages are consistently covered with engaging, relevant content. This will include working with freelancers to source and deliver content, managing content schedules, publishing across social channels, monitoring performance and identifying opportunities to improve reach and engagement.

You’ll support the Social Media & Editorial Manager with developing content ideas, original formats and strategies, bringing your own ideas and perspective to the team. You should be confident spotting trends, identifying potential viral opportunities and understanding how content can be adapted across platforms.

You’ll also help manage relationships with freelance content creators, ensuring briefs are understood, content is delivered on time and pages remain consistently active. Where issues arise, you’ll take a proactive approach to finding solutions.

The role may also require you to assist with content creation for our owned social pages. You should be comfortable planning, attending and occasionally hosting or assisting with shoots in public spaces alongside the wider team.

From time to time, you may also support retained clients, branded campaigns and internal creative projects, including creative ideas, content planning, shoot days, publishing and post-campaign delivery.

You’ll be expected to take ownership of your day-to-day responsibilities while working collaboratively with the Social Media & Editorial Manager and wider teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
