Role Description
The Social Media Manager volunteer will help promote the work and activities of Victoria County History Shropshire Limited across various social media platforms. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Planning and scheduling posts

- Monitoring comments and messages
- Supporting online community engagement
The role also involves:
- Developing and refining content strategies to increase reach
- Optimizing posts for each platform
- Tracking basic performance metrics to inform future activity
This is a volunteer, hybrid role based in Shrewsbury, with some work from home acceptable and occasional in-person meetings or events as needed.

Qualifications
- Communication and Writing Skills: To create clear, engaging, and accurate content.
- Content Strategy Skills: To plan and organize campaigns and regular posting schedules.
- Comfort using Major Social Media Platforms: (e.g., Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram) and basic analytics tools.
- Interest in Local History, Heritage, or Community Engagement: Highly beneficial.
- Ability to Work Collaboratively with Other Volunteers: And independently manage tasks and deadlines.
- Prior Experience in Social Media Management, Marketing, or Communications (Paid or Volunteer): An advantage but not essential.
