Full-time | Edinburgh | Thundr Digital
Thundr Digital is a growing full-service digital marketing agency working with ambitious B2B and B2C brands across social media, SEO, paid advertising, email marketing, and website development.
We’re looking for a full-time Social Media Manager to join our Edinburgh team and take ownership of a growing portfolio of client social accounts.
This is much more than a content scheduling role. You’ll be involved from strategy through to delivery, working directly with clients to understand their goals, develop ideas, create content, and use performance data to continually improve what we do.
We’re still a relatively small team, so you’ll have plenty of autonomy, direct access to clients, and the opportunity to help shape how our social media offering develops as Thundr grows.
The role
You’ll be responsible for managing social media activity across a varied portfolio of B2B and B2C clients.
- Developing 3–6 month social media strategies, including goals, content pillars, key campaigns, seasonal content, and important moments throughout the year
- Turning those strategies into clear monthly content plans and detailed filming-day briefs
- Planning and attending client filming days, arriving with ideas, hooks, concepts, scripts, and shot lists ready to go
- Editing short-form video and creating engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms where our clients’ audiences are
- Managing content calendars, client approvals, and scheduling
- Taking ownership of day-to-day client relationships, including regular communication, updates, and check-ins
- Preparing social media reports, interpreting performance data, and turning insights into clear recommendations and next steps
- Keeping up with platform trends, competitor activity, and new opportunities and proactively bringing fresh ideas to clients
- Supporting campaigns, launches, and wider marketing activity alongside the rest of the Thundr team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'd be a great fit if
- You have previous experience managing social media accounts, whether within an agency, in-house, or through freelance work
- You enjoy the strategy side of social media just as much as creating the content
- You’re confident filming and editing short-form video and understand what makes people stop scrolling
- You have strong analytical and reporting skills and can turn performance data into useful, actionable insights
- You’re naturally creative and regularly bring your own ideas rather than waiting to be given them
- You’re comfortable communicating directly with clients, presenting ideas, and taking ownership of your accounts
- You’re organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple clients, filming days, deadlines, and priorities at the same time
Agency experience would be beneficial, but it isn’t essential if you can demonstrate that you have the skills and attitude we’re looking for.
What you'll get
- Ongoing training and professional development
- Opportunities to attend industry events, conferences, and networking sessions
- Plenty of autonomy, responsibility, and opportunity to grow your role as Thundr grows
- Exposure to wider digital marketing disciplines including SEO, paid media, email marketing, and website projects
- A small, supportive team where your ideas will genuinely be heard
- Performance-based bonuses, rewards, and additional perks as the agency grows
