We are seeking a strategic, highly organized Freelance Social Media Manager to oversee the Instagram, TikTok and Facebook channels of a professional Premier League footballer. Working closely with the athlete’s Creative Director, Business Manager and dedicated Videographer/Photographer, you will develop and execute a cohesive social media strategy that strengthens his personal brand, grows and engages his audience, and supports his broader professional goals.
This is a hands-on role combining strategy, publishing, performance analysis and light content production. The ideal candidate understands how to turn an overarching creative direction into consistent, platform-specific content and knows how to use performance insights to continually improve results.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a three-month social media strategy across the athlete’s existing Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.
- Translate his personal brand, story and goals (as set by the Creative Director and Business Manager) into clear content pillars and platform-specific plans.
- Build and manage a consistent content calendar around training, recovery, match schedules, lifestyle moments and relevant cultural opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Director and Business Manager to ensure all content aligns with the wider creative and commercial strategy.
- Work directly with the Videographer/Photographer to plan content, identify asset needs and develop ideas for upcoming shoots.
- Write platform-appropriate and on-brand captions and prepare, schedule and publish content.
- Adapt existing photo and video assets into effective social-first formats, including basic editing, resizing, subtitling and short-form video assembly.
- Monitor platform trends and identify relevant opportunities.
- Track performance across all channels and provide clear, actionable reporting and insights.
- Test and refine content formats, posting schedules and creative approaches to improve reach, engagement and audience growth.
- Maintain a high level of discretion and professionalism when working with private or time-sensitive material.
- Travel to Bournemouth occasionally to work with the athlete and wider team in person.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
