Social Media Manager - 6 month Fixed Term

Location: Swindon Support Centre (hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office)

About the role

We’re seeking a motivated, creative, and highly collaborative Social Media Manager to join our Marketing team, based at our Support Centre in Swindon for a 6-month fixed-term contract.

Social media is becoming a major focal point of our marketing strategy. As the Social Media Manager, you will lead the evolution of our organic social media, influencer, and content activity. Reporting to the Marketing Controller, this role bridges creative storytelling with brand strategy and commercial priorities. You will own the social strategy and execution across all platforms, lead our creator network, and ensure social is at the heart of our integrated campaigns. You will also work closely with the Digital Marketing Manager to develop compelling creative for Paid Social campaigns.

Key responsibilities

  • Social & Influencer Strategy: Own and evolve the organic social and influencer strategy, ensuring clear alignment with the wider brand, marketing, and commercial strategy.
  • Campaign Integration: Lead the integration of social, influencer, and content activity across integrated campaigns, working closely with Marketing, Digital, and Trade Planning teams.
  • Creative & Content: Lead the development of high-quality, social-first content and creative concepts across key platforms, setting the creative standard for the brand.
  • Paid Social: Partner with Digital Marketing to develop and optimise engaging creative and content for Paid Social campaigns, using platform and audience insight to drive performance.
  • Influencer & Community: Own creator partnerships and oversee community management, ensuring brand tone, safety, and engagement remain consistently strong.
  • Performance & Insight: Own social performance reporting, translating engagement, audience, content, and influencer data into actionable recommendations.
  • Trends & Innovation: Stay ahead of platform developments, social trends, creators, and cultural moments, identifying opportunities to keep the brand relevant and distinctive.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Build strong relationships with internal teams, agencies, and external creative talent, confidently influencing stakeholders and leading projects from brief through to delivery.

About you

Experience required will include:

  • Proven experience in a Social Media Manager or equivalent role, ideally within a retail, consumer-facing, or lifestyle brand.
  • Exceptional content creation and creative skills, with a strong portfolio demonstrating engaging, high-quality social content across platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
  • Proven ability to develop social-first creative concepts, write compelling copy, and confidently brief or direct content creators, agencies, and production partners.
  • Experience creating or directing Paid Social creative, with an understanding of how to develop content that delivers both brand impact and performance.
  • Strong experience managing end-to-end influencer and creator campaigns, from strategy and briefing through to delivery and measurement.
  • Deep understanding of social platforms, audience behavior, trends, and social analytics, with the ability to turn insight into action.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge at all levels.
  • A highly creative, commercially minded, and proactive individual who is passionate about social and constantly looking for new ways to make the brand stand out.
