Who We Are
Ultimate Performance was founded for one simple reason. We wanted to create the most effective method of personal training. On a journey that started with one small gym in London, today we are operating 26 gyms across 9 countries in some of the biggest cities in the world.
The Role
We’re looking for a Social Media Manager to help take our brand to the next level.
This is a hands-on role for someone who knows how to make social work for a brand, not just create content for content’s sake. You’ll be responsible for growing our Instagram and LinkedIn presence, increasing our visibility, building meaningful relationships with creators and turning our trainers into credible, compelling voices for U.P.
You’ll be close to the action: visiting gyms, capturing content, working directly with trainers and creators, spotting opportunities and using data to understand what’s driving growth.
If you’re commercially minded, creatively sharp and know what it takes to build a brand people want to follow, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Own the growth of U.P.’s Instagram and LinkedIn channels, with accountability for reach, follower growth and audience quality.
- Use social to increase awareness, visibility and reputation for the U.P. brand.
- Build and manage a forward-looking content calendar that creates a consistent and recognisable presence.
- Use performance data and insights to continually improve what we do.
- Create and coordinate high-quality content across Instagram and LinkedIn, from trainer-led and educational content to brand storytelling and relevant trends.
- Get out into our gyms and capture content yourself, including reels, stories and trainer filming sessions.
- Develop recurring content formats that build recognition and consistency.
- Ensure everything we publish feels unmistakably U.P. and meets our brand standards.
- Own daily community management across Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Engage with audiences in a specific, relevant and authentic way.
- Proactively engage with industry content, conversations and voices to extend U.P.’s reach.
- Identify and proactively target creators who are a strong fit for the U.P. brand.
- Own creator outreach and maintain a clear pipeline of opportunities and responses.
- Lead the onboarding of new creator partners, ensuring they understand our brand, method and tone.
- Build genuine, long-term relationships that go beyond a single post or campaign.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

What we’re looking for
You’ll have proven experience growing social channels for a brand, ideally within fitness, health, lifestyle or another premium consumer-facing industry.
More importantly, you’ll be someone who:
- Has a proven track record of using Instagram and LinkedIn to build brand awareness and visibility.
- Knows what good social content looks like and has strong instincts for spotting opportunities.

- Is comfortable working directly with talent, whether that’s trainers, creators or industry voices.
- Can confidently pick up a camera, capture content in a gym and turn an opportunity into something engaging.
- Is organised enough to manage a content calendar, creator pipeline, growth targets and reporting without losing creative momentum.
- Is a natural relationship-builder who can earn the trust of trainers, creators and colleagues.
- Is comfortable with data and knows how to turn social performance metrics into better decisions.
What success looks like
Within your first 90 days, you’ll have:
- Established a reliable content calendar and consistent weekly output across Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Started building measurable momentum in reach, visibility and audience growth.
- Identified and begun onboarding a pipeline of relevant creator partners.
- Built genuine relationships with creators beyond individual pieces of content.
- Built a working trainer content pipeline.
- Made meaningful community engagement a consistent part of our social presence.
- Introduced reliable weekly reporting that clearly connects activity with growth and awareness.
