About Baguley Athletic Football Club

Baguley Athletic FC is an ambitious, fast-growing grassroots football club rooted in the heart of Wythenshawe. From expanding our senior and youth setup to launching our Women’s team and Little Kix Soccer School, we are building a club that truly belongs to its community.

We believe grassroots sport deserves high-quality digital media. We’re seeking a passionate, creative Volunteer Social Media Manager based in Greater Manchester to own our digital brand, build our online community, and bring our club’s story to life across social media.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Content Planning

  • Build & Own the Calendar: Design, schedule, and maintain structured weekly and monthly content calendars covering match previews, fixture updates, post-match summaries, and mid-week features.
  • Maintain Posting Consistency: Ensure regular, high-quality output across all core channels (Instagram, X, Facebook, and LinkedIn).
  • Creative Campaign Development: Pitch and execute engaging content series—from spotlighting player sponsors and volunteer profiles to promoting community grant drives and club initiatives.

Community & Brand Growth

  • Fan & Community Engagement: Manage incoming messages and comments, engaging with local supporters, regional football accounts, and community groups.
  • Sponsor & Partner Integration: Work alongside club leadership to seamlessly incorporate local sponsors and corporate partners into regular digital posts and graphics.
  • Analytics & Learning: Track post performance and engagement metrics to learn what resonates best with our audience and continually refine our strategy.

What We’re Looking For

  • Location: Must reside within Greater Manchester to attend key fixtures or club meetings when needed.
  • Platform Knowledge: Strong familiarity with managing key social media platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn).
  • Organised & Proactive: Great time-management skills and the ability to schedule posts in advance.
  • Creative Eye: Familiarity with basic graphic design tools (such as Canva) or photo editing is a strong advantage.
  • Passion for Sport: A genuine interest in football, community development, or sports marketing.
