We’ve built our success by being both editorially and commercially driven and cover topics such as fashion, beauty, arts & culture, restaurant reviews, travel, interiors, wellbeing, parenting and careers. We work with clients such as Volvo, NEXT, Disney+, Beauty Pie, Cult Beauty, Made.com, Dulux Heritage, Sky, Knight Frank, Hotel du Vin and The Pig Group, plus hundreds of independent restaurants, hotels, theatres, beauty, fashion and travel businesses.
Muddy Stilettos is now looking for an enthusiastic digital marketing and socially-led person to join our Marketing team. The position would suit someone currently managing social activity for a lifestyle publisher or premium hospitality brand within a digital business environment, looking to switch to a new more dynamic role with a young, disruptive digital first company.
Purpose of Role
To grow social followers and schedule and manage the social channels effectively for Muddy Stilettos National, Bucks/Oxon and Schools Guide sites and fulfil client partnership activity including competition and display advertising.
To create, manage and optimise engaging social media content across the Muddy Stilettos brand, helping grow audiences, increase engagement and deliver campaigns for both editorial and commercial partners. The role combines social media management, graphic design, content creation and wider marketing support.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Marketing Director you will be responsible for social media scheduling, creative, and posting across Muddy Stilettos National, Bucks/Oxon and Schools Guide feeds and provide National and cross County marketing support where needed.
This includes:
- Working closely with the Social and Content Manager to implement the social content plan and scheduling posts. Liaising with Editorial HQ team and County Editors on key projects such as 2025 Muddy Awards, Best Places to Live 2025, Weekend Escapes, Best Schools Guide and Best Schools Awards 2025
- Scheduling the Muddy Bucks & Oxon newsletters onto social twice a week
- Writing and creating social content including grid posts, stories, reels for the Muddy brand and National and local client partnership activity
- Utilising the Sprout Social platform to schedule, post and report across our 60 different social feeds each week.
- Proactively trialling new ideas to increase community engagement
- Implementing client partnerships for both national and regional clients with particular responsibility for social promotion, competitions and regional display
- Monthly reporting of social media stats including impressions, engagement and followers for all counties and National and local Client Post Campaign Analysis Reports
- Manage Instagram competitions by creating and putting them live, closing competitions, tracking results, picking and contacting winners, passing details on to the clients for fulfilment
- Create graphics, gifs and video for social and display ads
- Monitoring social channels inbound messages and replying in a timely manner
- Uploading Leaderboards and MPUs using WordPress and Addition, our in house Ad Server
- Sourcing quotes and manage the purchase of print materials and merchandise
- Assisting Regional Editors and answering queries
- Conduct social media inductions for new regional editors involving a Zoom tutorial, set up of their social media channels/changeover details and liaison with web developer etc
- Ad hoc office tasks (including updating various data sheets and info on Teams, stationery printing)

CORE COMPETENCIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Social Media skills
- Excellent skills and understanding of how best to use Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube
- Graphic Design skills using Canva or Photoshop
- Editing skills using Edits or IG/TikTok editing
- Proficient at using social management platforms such as Sprout Social or similar
Organisation skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, requiring excellent prioritisation and organisation and enjoys working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Happy to work systematically scheduling posts, adding tags and links to bio etc with good attention to detail.

Creative and Production
- Proven evidence of both creating visual and video content and writing social captions for social media within a lifestyle environment and being able to write in the Muddy tone of voice
Good verbal and written communication
The ability to build strong and effective working relationships with a wide team (HQ and Regional teams) and proactively willing to keep others updated when working remotely
Commercial Impact
Adept at using social media as a means to build social followers, engagement and brand image and successfully delivering brand partnership KPIs
Knowledge, skills & experience
- Ideally 2+ years social media experience working in a lifestyle / digital publishing / Media production businesses
- Degree-educated, ideally in journalism, marketing or a creative production subject
- Proven experience managing Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tiktok feeds, plus YouTube, and successfully growing followers and building community relationships
- Experience using Canva, Photoshop, InDesign and Video Editing
- Ideally experience of using Google Analytics, WordPress (or a similar publishing content management system), Googlesheets, PowerPoint/Word and Display Adserver
- Experience of using social media to grow reach and increase consumer engagement and influence user behaviour
- Understanding of audience measurement techniques and how to use them to drive campaign strategies and KPIs
- A good communicator with the ability to adapt style according to audience
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively when working to tight deadlines
- A proactive and flexible approach to work and be comfortable with a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities
PACKAGE
Competitive salary, pension, 5 days per week, 20 days holiday + bank holidays

Flexible (WFH + required to meet in Bucks /Oxford co-working space once per month or as often as required)
