KINETIC SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Head of Marketing and Partnerships

Team: Marketing and Partnerships (small team; this role works largely independently)

Contract: Permanent, full-time (flexible/hybrid working), London-based

Salary: £32,000 to £35,000 depending on experience

Start Date: ASAP

About the Kinetic Foundation

The Kinetic Foundation is an innovative London-based football and education charity. Since 2011, Kinetic has supported 12,250 young people with opportunities to achieve their full potential on and off the pitch, empowering them to successfully transition into employment, training, university, or the professional game - resulting in increased workforce participation, reduced social inequalities, and greater opportunities for lifelong success. On-the-pitch success includes 84 professional signings to date, including names such as Joe Aribo, Kwadwo Baah, Josh Maja, and Rhys Norrington-Davies.

Through its flagship programme, Kinetic Academy, Kinetic combines high-quality football with post-16 education pathways, with the aim of keeping boys and girls who reside in the most deprived areas of the UK, are from low-income households and/or from historically marginalised ethnic backgrounds in education through their passion for football.

Kinetic Futures, its employability programme, gives all Kinetic Academy students access to mentorship, employability workshops, and corporate networking to broaden their horizons and build their future pathways. 97% of Kinetic's young people graduate into employment, higher education, or training, where they are also five times more employable than the London average.

The third pillar of the charity’s activity, Kinetic Community, is a programme that provides free weekly football development sessions and holiday programmes for 11 to 18-year-olds, giving U16 boys and girls the chance to play on a regular basis at no cost.

Our work happens on pitches, in communities, and in partnership with schools, funders, and corporate sponsors, and increasingly, it happens online too. Social media is one of our most powerful tools for recruiting new participants, building our profile, telling our participants' stories, and bringing partners and donors closer to the impact we create.

The Role

We're looking for a Social Media Manager to take full ownership of Kinetic Foundation's presence across TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn. This is a hands-on, highly autonomous role: you'll be the person planning, filming, editing, posting, and reporting on our content, not just briefing someone else to do it. You'll also be a flexible extra pair of hands for the wider Marketing and Partnerships team, supporting campaigns, events, and partner-facing content as needed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll have close guidance from our Head of Marketing and Partnerships, but day-to-day, you'll be trusted to run the channels, make creative calls, and manage your own workload. This suits someone who's happiest self-directing, enjoys the variety of a small charity or club environment, and wants real ownership over a brand's voice rather than executing someone else's plan.

Key Responsibilities

Content strategy & planning

  • Own the content strategy, tone of voice, and posting calendar across TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn, each tailored to its audience (participants and community on TikTok/Instagram; funders, partners, and the sport-for-development sector on LinkedIn)
  • Plan content around the Foundation's programme calendar, key sporting fixtures/moments, awareness days, and fundraising campaigns
  • Set and track goals for growth, engagement, and reach, and adjust strategy based on performance

Content creation

  • Film and edit short-form video content at community sessions, events, and partner activations (phone/basic kit filming is expected; you'll be comfortable being the one behind the camera)
  • Write engaging captions and copy suited to each platform
  • Design or brief simple graphics for posts (Canva or similar)
  • Capture and tell participant stories with care, sensitivity, and appropriate consent/safeguarding practice
  • Support the team in maximising partnership opportunities, including ongoing work with adidas and ad hoc campaigns

Community management

  • Manage day-to-day community interaction (comments, DMs, and engagement) in line with the Foundation's tone and safeguarding guidelines
  • Monitor conversation and flag any reputational or safeguarding concerns promptly to the Head of Marketing and Partnerships

Reporting & insight

  • Track and report on performance monthly (reach, engagement, follower growth, top content) and translate this into recommendations
  • Keep an eye on trends across football, charity, and sport-for-good social media, and bring fresh ideas back to the team

Wider marketing team support

  • Support the Head of Marketing and Partnerships with broader marketing activity: email newsletters, website updates, partner/sponsor content, PR and press support, and event coverage
  • Support in creating briefs for freelancers, videographers, and photographers as required on a campaign/standalone event basis
  • Help produce partner- and funder-facing materials (e.g. impact highlights, partnership decks, sponsor social content) as needed
  • Represent Kinetic Foundation's brand consistently

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience managing social media channels professionally, ideally within football, sport, or the charity/non-profit sector
  • Strong, demonstrable content creation skills: filming and editing short-form video (e.g. CapCut, Premiere Rush, InShot) and writing platform-native copy
  • Working knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn best practice, including how content and tone should differ by platform and audience
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal day-to-day oversight, able to plan your own time, make decisions, and know when to escalate
  • Good judgement around safeguarding, consent, and representing vulnerable groups and young people online
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to brand tone and accuracy
  • Basic design skills (Canva or similar) for simple graphics

Desirable

  • Experience working with an agency, club, club foundation, or sports charity
  • Experience supporting fundraising or partnership/sponsorship content
  • Familiarity with social scheduling and analytics tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social, Later)
  • Knowledge/interest of the non-league and women’s football landscapes
  • An in-date DBS check, or willingness to undergo one

What You'll Get

  • The chance to build and shape a charity's entire social media presence with real ownership and creative freedom
  • Close working relationship with senior leadership and exposure to partnership and fundraising work
  • A small, supportive team where your work has visible, direct impact
  • Flexible/hybrid working, with regular time on-site at community sessions, fixtures, and events across London

How to Apply

Please send a CV, a portfolio/link to relevant social channels you've managed, and a short covering note telling us about a piece of content you're proud of and why it worked to paula.kowalska@kinetic-foundation.org.uk.
