Job Title

The University of Strathclyde is seeking a creative and proactive Social Media Officer to join our Marketing and Communications team at the heart of Glasgow’s vibrant city centre.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver engaging social media content that showcases the University’s world-leading research, innovation, and student experience. Working across a range of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, and LinkedIn, you’ll help to grow our online presence, strengthen engagement with key audiences, and support major campaigns and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, create, and deliver engaging social media content across multiple platforms
  • Manage day-to-day activity, including scheduling, monitoring, and responding to queries
  • Work closely with colleagues across the University to promote research, partnerships, and student activity
  • Analyse performance and optimise campaigns using data and insights
  • Support wider marketing campaigns and communications activity

About You

  • Experience managing social media channels for an organisation
  • Strong writing, storytelling, and content creation skills
  • Understanding of social media analytics and best practice
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and passion for digital engagement
