Social Media Officer - £18,000 PA (Pro rata of £30,000)
Location: 1 Thorpe Close, London W10 5XL
Hours: 24 hours per week, 3 days per week
Contract: 2-year fixed-term contract
Are you a creative social media professional who knows how to turn good ideas into engaging content? Do you enjoy writing, filming, designing, and finding new ways to build online communities?
The Role
Westway Trust is looking for a Social Media Officer to bring fresh ideas, creativity, and digital expertise to its communications. You will manage day-to-day social activity across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Bluesky, and X, while helping to introduce channels including Nextdoor and WhatsApp. You will create content that showcases the Trust’s work and helps connect with communities across North Kensington.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the social media content calendar.
- Create written, graphic, photographic, and video content.
- Film, present, and edit videos from idea through to final production.
- Manage and develop the Trust’s YouTube presence.
- Monitor engagement and produce monthly performance reports.
- Advise on social media advertising and opportunities to grow reach.
- Ensure content meets brand, accessibility, and GDPR standards.

The Person
Our ideal Social Media Officer will have experience managing content calendars, growing online communities, and producing engaging digital content. You will be a confident writer and editor, comfortable creating static and video content, organized when managing deadlines, and able to work well with different teams and stakeholders.
