Job Title: Social Media Specialist
Salary starting from £57,737
Location: Peterborough

About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests, and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a creative, hands-on, and enthusiastic Social Media Specialist to lead and grow our social media presence across multiple platforms. You will be responsible for developing and creating engaging content, building online communities, increasing brand awareness, and driving audience engagement.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands digital trends, enjoys creating compelling content, and can turn insights into impactful organic social media strategies.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with business goals
- Write, schedule, and publish engaging content across platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, WeChat, and YouTube
- Manage day-to-day social media activity and community engagement
- Monitor social media trends, competitors, and emerging platforms
- Plan and execute organic social campaigns to increase reach, engagement, and lead generation
- Collaborate with enterprise and divisional marketing, sales, and creative teams to ensure brand consistency
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and lead social media guidance and training
- Analyse campaign performance and provide regular reports with actionable recommendations
- Build relationships with influencers, partners, and brand advocates
- Manage social media calendars and ensure content is delivered on time

What You Will Have
Promotion and Marketing Communications:
Knowledge of different promotional and marketing communication techniques; ability to use different marketing channels and tools in combination to focus on how a business communicates a message to the market.
Level: Working Knowledge
Proven experience in B2B social media strategy creation and management
Strong analytical skills, with experience using platform insights and Google Analytics
Knowledge of SEO, AEO, and content marketing principles
Deep expertise in social media strategy and management
Marketing, Communications, or related degree qualification
Customer Focus:
Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

Experience managing multiple brands

- The role may require up to 25% travel (domestic and international)
- The role is based at the Peterborough facility 5 days per week.
