Social Media Strategic Lead - EMEA
Location: UK/EMEA
Contract: 12 months / Remote contract

The Team
Chesamel has a large team of marketing experts delivering on client projects across the globe, ranging from fully integrated and embedded consultancy to ad-hoc on demand project delivery. You will be joining a collective focused on delivering excellent client servicing while leading business transformation for our clients.
About the Role
Collaborate with the Head of Social Media EMEA to align and execute the EMEA social strategy into targeted regional roadmaps, elevated content, and impactful outcomes. Combining high-level strategy with hands-on content evaluation and operational management, this role empowers local social media leads to drive exceptional results.
Role Responsibilities
EMEA Social strategy development — 30%
- Work with the Head of Social Media EMEA and the Social Media Lead to shape and evolve the EMEA social strategy, aligned with global priorities and our clients Cloud objectives.
- Translate strategic priorities into clear recommendations for regional activity, campaign focus, and channel use.
- Identify gaps, opportunities, and competing priorities, bringing recommendations to the Head of Social Media EMEA for decisions.
Regional planning and guidance — 20%
- Support regional social media managers in developing realistic quarterly and monthly content plans.
- Help local social media teams prioritise requests and balance campaign, local, and always-on content.
- Coordinate cross-regional requests, including but not limited to markets such as Nordics and Israel, with clear owners, briefs, and deadlines.
- Flag content volumes or requests that exceed available capacity and propose adjustments.

Content quality and direction — 15%
- Define what good social content looks like across themes, formats, cadence, and storytelling.
- Review priority content and provide specific, actionable feedback on messaging, audience relevance, and quality.
- Apply editorial judgement to all content and recommendations, including AI-assisted work, before sharing them.
- Support regional managers to improve their own output while retaining ownership of execution.
Performance review and optimisation — 15%
- Review regional performance and identify trends, gaps, and opportunities.
- Recommend practical changes to content, formats, and planning based on results.
- Work with regional managers to test improvements and share useful learning across markets.
Stakeholder collaboration and workflow oversight — 10%
- Act as a strategic partner to the Head of Social Media EMEA and collaborate with the Social Media Lead, regional managers, and relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain visibility of assigned work in Airtable, including status, ownership, approvals, and blockers.
- Coordinate reviews and follow up on sign-offs for agreed workstreams.
- Take ownership of selected tactical deliverables where agreed, with clear priorities and capacity.
Best practice and framework development — 10%
- Develop practical planning templates, content guidance, and review frameworks.
- Turn recurring issues into clearer processes or guidance for the team.
- Keep guidance aligned with our clients' current requirements, seeking clarification from the appropriate owner where needed.
Proposed Division of Responsibilities
- Stakeholder: sets strategic priorities, confirms scope, and resolves competing demands.
- Strategist: owns strategic development, planning guidance, quality standards, performance recommendations, and agreed workflow oversight.
- Senior Team Member: leads day-to-day team coordination, ongoing mentorship, and operational unblocking, with the division of content review and approvals to be confirmed.
- Regional Managers: own local planning, content development, and execution within the agreed framework.

- Strategic thinking and commercial understanding: translating Cloud’s priorities into practical regional social plans, then using performance insights to improve them.
- Editorial judgement and content direction: recognising what makes strong B2B social content and giving specific, useful feedback that improves messaging, storytelling, and audience relevance.
- Ownership, prioritisation, and collaboration: managing competing requests, being transparent about capacity, and proactively resolving blockers, while helping regional managers work independently.
Nice to Have Skills/Qualifications
- Technology or cloud-sector experience: familiarity with B2B technology audiences and translating complex topics into engaging social content.
- Multi-market experience: supporting regional teams across EMEA and adapting global strategy to local audiences.
- Social tools and analytics: experience with Airtable, Sprinklr, or similar workflow, publishing, and reporting platforms.
- Mentoring experience: coaching social media managers and developing practical content guidance or frameworks.
- Responsible use of AI: using AI to support research and content development, with strong editorial judgement and quality checks.
- Relevant qualification: a degree or professional qualification in marketing, communications, or digital strategy, or equivalent practical experience.
- Additional European languages: useful for regional collaboration, particularly Spanish, German, or French.

- Maintain a transparent view of projects, priorities, and time commitments.
- Raise capacity concerns early, identifying the affected deliverables and proposing trade-offs.
- Agree changes in ownership or delegation with the relevant lead.
- Give regional managers clear guidance and appropriate autonomy.
- Keep routine requests within working hours and use out-of-hours escalation for genuinely urgent matters.
