Job Details
2 hours term time per week, 8 hours school holidays per week including weekends (to be arranged). This is 2:1 support.
Location: Byker, Newcastle Upon Tyne
Rate: £14.00 per hour
About Lucas:
Lucas is a lively, inquisitive 6-year-old little boy who has autism. He lives with his parents and sibling in Byker, and he attends a specialist school in Newcastle along with his brother. Lucas is looking for a personal assistant to accompany and support him to access the local community, and activities of his choice.

Activities and Interests:
- Trampolining and soft play
- Cause and effect toys, especially light up ones
- Local parks and adventure playgrounds
Requirements:
- Must be supervised at all times as Lucas is an escape artist and has no awareness of danger
- Personal care is required as Lucas is non-verbal and communicates with gestures and noises
Requirements for the Role:
- Experience working with children with autism and challenging behaviors
- Must be resilient and have a good level of fitness as Lucas is a strong, sturdy young boy
- Lucas uses a buggy for most outings

Additional Information:
- A car driver would be preferred but is not essential
