I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Leo enjoys a variety of sensory stimulating activities including spinning, swimming, and trips to the local parks or SEND centres. He would like to visit and explore new venues with enclosed spaces to widen his experiences within the community. He uses a specialist wheelchair to access the community, which is fitted with a harness. Routine is very important to Leo as he can dysregulate if sudden changes occur, and due to his non-verbal autism, he cannot tell you directly what is wrong. Leo uses hand gestures and leading to show and tell you his needs. Leo can become dysregulated so coping strategies to manage these must be demonstrated and implemented to ensure his safety. Leo can self-harm if he becomes dysregulated and can lash out. He enjoys a trip to McDonalds and his favourite food is chicken nuggets. He also recently learned to ride an adapted bike which he loves, so centres that have these facilities is always a great shout.
