Social Value Manager
Location: Exeter (Office Based)
Region: South West England (Regular Travel Required)
Job Type: Permanent
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Social Value Manager to lead the development and delivery of social value initiatives across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and construction projects throughout the South West region. Based from our Exeter office, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring social value commitments are embedded throughout project lifecycles and translated into measurable, lasting benefits for local communities.
Working closely with operational teams, clients, local stakeholders, and supply chain partners, you will be responsible for developing strategic social value plans, overseeing delivery against contractual commitments, and championing best practice across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of regional social value strategies and action plans.
- Drive the successful delivery of contractual and client-specific social value commitments across multiple projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organisations, education providers, local authorities, and key stakeholders.
- Support pre-construction and bid teams by developing compelling social value content for tender submissions.
- Monitor, track, and report social value outcomes using relevant reporting platforms and client systems.
- Conduct local needs analysis and identify opportunities where projects can create meaningful community impact.
- Work collaboratively with project teams to embed social value into project planning and delivery.
- Manage and support social value performance within the supply chain.
- Deliver internal training and awareness programmes to increase engagement and understanding of social value objectives.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and leadership to social value and community engagement professionals across the region.

About You
We are looking for a passionate and proactive individual with a proven track record of delivering social value programmes within the built environment, construction, infrastructure, or related project-based sectors.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in a Social Value, Community Engagement, Stakeholder Engagement, or Sustainability role.
- Strong knowledge of social value frameworks, including TOMs and the UK Government Social Value Model.
- Experience delivering social value commitments within construction, infrastructure, or the wider built environment.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership management skills.
- Experience producing detailed impact reports and analysing performance data.
- Strong written communication skills with experience supporting bids and tender submissions.
- Confident presenter with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the South West region.
