We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. As our Social Value Manager, you’ll help shape and deliver our social value approach, ensuring our commitments create meaningful and measurable outcomes for our clients, communities and the people we serve.
What will you be doing?
As our Social Value Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering our social value approach, ensuring we create meaningful and measurable outcomes for our clients, communities and the people we serve.
Working across the business, you’ll collaborate with operational teams, clients and external partners to develop initiatives that respond to local priorities and support our wider business and ESG objectives. You’ll also play an important role during the bidding process, helping us develop credible social value commitments that can be successfully delivered and evidenced throughout the life of our contracts. You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing and delivering our social value strategy, aligning our approach with business, client and ESG objectives
- Leading social value responses for bids and tenders, developing clear, measurable and deliverable commitments
- Overseeing the delivery of contractual social value commitments across programmes and contracts
- Building strong relationships with clients, local authorities, housing associations, community organisations, education providers and supply chain partners
- Developing and supporting initiatives focused on employment, apprenticeships, skills and training, community investment, fuel poverty, wellbeing and sustainability
- Working with teams across the business to identify opportunities to create lasting positive impact in the communities where we work
- Monitoring social value KPIs and ensuring outcomes are supported by accurate evidence and reporting
- Producing social value and impact reports that clearly demonstrate the outcomes and value delivered
- Sharing best practice and providing guidance and training to help colleagues understand and embed social value within their work
- Continuously looking for opportunities to strengthen our approach and increase the social value we deliver for our clients and communities

What you’ll bring
- Proven experience delivering social value, community engagement, ESG or social impact programmes
- A strong understanding of social value within public sector, procurement and contractual environments
- Experience contributing to bids and tender responses, particularly developing achievable and measurable social value commitments
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to build relationships with clients, operational teams and external partners
- Experience working with local authorities, housing associations, community organisations or similar partners
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, priorities and stakeholders
- Experience monitoring KPIs, outcomes and evidence and using data to demonstrate the impact of social value activity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage different audiences and communicate impact clearly
- A collaborative and proactive approach, with the confidence to champion social value and share best practice across the business
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required
