The Social Value team plays a key role throughout the entire procurement lifecycle, from supporting the development of tender requirements and evaluating the quality of social value submissions, through to contract mobilisation, delivery, monitoring, and reporting. The team also provides advice and guidance on social value to colleagues and partnering contractors, helping to ensure commitments are meaningful, impactful, achievable, and aligned to local priorities. Through employment and skills initiatives, community projects, financial and social inclusion programmes, and targeted support services, we help people build confidence, increase independence, and access opportunities that enable them to thrive.
This team has been recently established as part of the Social Impact Team, which includes our Resident Involvement team also. This is an exciting opportunity for the Social Value Officer to work closely with resident involvement colleagues in creating meaningful social impact, and with lasting outcomes to the customers and communities we serve. This post will be joining a unique team that’s growing their social value offer and being part of expanding the service, by embedding social value in everything we do.
What you’ll do
As a Social Value Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery and growth of social value initiatives at Vico Homes influencing meaningful social impact for our customers and communities.

- Working closely with the Social Value Partner, you will help maximize the impact of social value projects, develop effective partnerships, and ensure the successful delivery of services to customers and communities.
- You will develop effective partnerships with external suppliers to maximise the impact of social value workstreams within Vico Homes communities and engage with key internal stakeholders including Procurement, Estates, Resident Involvement and wider service areas to deliver meaningful outcomes for Vico Homes customers.
- You will contribute to identifying funding opportunities, preparing reports, and play a key role in the monitoring and evaluation of social value outcomes.
What we’re looking for
- Experience with partnership working with a range of agencies to develop and deliver quality services to customers.
- An understanding of Social Value principles and delivery.
- A customer focussed approach to service users and experience of assisting with the identification of funding streams and opportunities to support customers.
- Good understanding and experience of performance management.
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a highly pressurised environment and organise work to meet deadlines and targets. Good time management skills are also essential.
- Have effective negotiation and motivation skills
