Role Overview

As a Social Work Practice Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting and supervising staff in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will work closely with Lead Practitioners, Team Managers, families, carers, and other professionals to assess needs, develop family plans, and provide family support. Our services will always be joined up, and you will develop robust partnerships with other teams and outside agencies; to include the police, health, schools, and voluntary organisations.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting Lead Practitioners and Team Managers to ensure children and families receive high-quality, needs-led S17 assessments and timely support and planning under Child in Need.
  • Providing reflective supervision and casework oversight.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of multi-agency Family Help plans.
  • Chairing multi-agency meetings, quality assure and authorise assessments and reports.
  • Promoting the voice of the child and ensuring their views shape their care.
  • Championing our practice model ‘Connections Count’ and upholding our values of equality, diversity, and inclusion.

About You

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals who are committed to making a difference. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
  • Extensive experience working with vulnerable children and families.
  • Experience of Supervising others.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation, safeguarding, and multi-agency working.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and supervisory skills.
  • A commitment to reflective practice and continuous professional development.
