Adult Social Worker - Devon County Council

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an Adult Social Worker to join Devon County Council on a temporary ongoing contract.

Location: Devon

Contract: 3-month ongoing contract with a view to extension

Pay Rate: £35.00 per hour Umbrella (£27.48 PAYE Exclusive)

Hours: Full-time

About the Role

You will work within Adult Social Care services, supporting adults using a strengths-based and person-centred approach to maximise independence, wellbeing, and choice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing complex Care Act assessments and reviews.
  • Undertaking risk assessments and care planning.
  • Contributing to Continuing Healthcare (CHC) processes.
  • Applying the Mental Capacity Act, including capacity assessments and Best Interest decisions.
  • Identifying enablement and reablement opportunities.
  • Leading safeguarding enquiries, including complex safeguarding investigations.
  • Working closely with health professionals, voluntary organisations, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Undertaking Court of Protection work, including Deprivation of Liberty applications within the community where required.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely case records.
  • Supporting service development and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Experience within Adult Social Care.
  • Strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, and safeguarding legislation.
  • Experience completing assessments, reviews, safeguarding enquiries, and support planning.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-working skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
