Job Title: Social Worker - Children in Care Court Team
Location: One Angel Square, Northampton
Hourly Rate: £38 (Umbrella)
Working Pattern: Hybrid (dependent on court hearings, CIC reviews, and visits)
About the Role
Northampton Children’s Trust is currently seeking experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Care Teams, with a specific focus on court work. This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a varied caseload and play a key role in progressing cases through court proceedings while ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people.
These positions sit within Children in Care teams, with a dedicated court function, requiring strong report writing skills and confidence working within legal frameworks. The role offers a hybrid working model, with flexibility depending on service needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload involving ongoing court proceedings
- Completing high-quality assessments, court reports, and statements
- Undertaking all statutory responsibilities as a case-holding social worker
- Attending court hearings and representing the service as required
- Carrying out statutory visits and participating in Children in Care reviews
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration
- Experience managing court proceedings within Children’s Services
- Strong assessment and report writing skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
