International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship (Shortage Occupations only)

On 01 April 2020, Blackpool Council and Lancashire County Council formed a Regional Adoption Agency (RAA): Adoption Lancashire and Blackpool.

Lancashire County Council are the host authority for the RAA, which provides a comprehensive service to families across the region.

The RAA delivers the following services on behalf of both of the partner Local Authorities:

  • Recruitment and Assessment of adopters
  • Adoption Support
  • Adoption panels
  • Family finding and matching

Based centrally in Preston, but working flexibly to meet with families throughout the region, our Social Workers undertake varied and interesting casework whilst receiving all the support and comprehensive benefits that you would expect when working for a Local Authority (including a very generous annual leave package, competitive salary and enrolment in the Local Government Pension Scheme).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
