Children’s Social Worker

Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Children’s Social Worker to join its client’s Assessment team, based in Buckinghamshire.

The successful candidate will undertake high-quality statutory assessments of children and families where there are concerns about a child's welfare, safety, development, or family circumstances.

You will work directly with children, parents, carers, and partner agencies to understand family circumstances, identify strengths and risks, and determine the most appropriate support and intervention required.

The role requires a confident practitioner who can manage a varied caseload, complete assessments within statutory timescales, and make sound professional decisions that promote positive outcomes for children and families.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive statutory assessments of children and families.
  • Respond to referrals and assess the level of need, risk, and appropriate intervention.
  • Undertake child and family assessments in line with relevant legislation and council procedures.
  • Visit children and families in their homes and other appropriate settings.
  • Ensure children's wishes, feelings, and lived experiences are central to assessments and decision-making.
  • Identify safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action where children may be at risk of significant harm.
  • Undertake and contribute to Section 47 enquiries where required.
  • Participate in strategy discussions and multi-agency safeguarding meetings.
  • Analyse family circumstances, parenting capacity, risks, strengths, and protective factors.
  • Develop appropriate plans and recommendations based.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Post-qualified experience
  • Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
