Warwickshire County Council,
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a Qualified Social Worker, preferably with a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience (and has completed the ASYE), in the countywide Adult Safeguarding Team.
About The Team
To provide a social work service within the countywide Safeguarding Adults Short Term (SAST) Team. The Adult Safeguarding Team provides a high-quality professional assessment, advice & support service to individuals & groups who are referred due to risk of abuse or neglect.
About The Role
The postholder will carry a caseload of Adult Safeguarding cases and will be required to work with all service user groups to meet service demands. Caseload will be geographically based as far as practically possible, but the postholder will be required to carry cases across all different parts of the county as needed.

Our work is challenging, yet rewarding, and you will need to be resilient, focused, and motivated to improve the quality of the Adult Safeguarding support we offer to Adults within Warwickshire. You need to be committed to delivering strengths-based practice and the values of Making Safeguarding Personal.
Your normal place of work will be Warwick or Bedworth. You may also be required to work at other locations as reasonably necessary for the proper performance of your duties.
Key Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
- Minimum 2 Years post qualifying experience is preferred, and you should have completed ASYE.
- Mobility essential. Able-bodied applicants must be able to drive, have a driving licence and be a car owner. Disabled applicants should be able to perform the job with aid, where necessary.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
