Social Worker - Child Protection Team

Location: Nottingham City Council

Rate: £37.50 per hour (Umbrella)

Contract: Initial 3-Month Contract with View to Extension

Hours: Full Time

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join the Child Protection Team at Nottingham City Council on an initial 3-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dedicated safeguarding team, supporting vulnerable children and families while working alongside experienced professionals committed to achieving positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans and Child in Need Plans.
  • Complete statutory assessments, risk assessments, and care planning.
  • Undertake Section 47 enquiries and contribute to safeguarding investigations.
  • Attend Child Protection Conferences, Core Group Meetings, and Court proceedings where required.
  • Work in partnership with children, families, and multi-agency professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case recordings in line with statutory requirements and local authority procedures.

Requirements

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Qualified Social Worker (Degree, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
  • Previous experience within Child Protection, Safeguarding, or Children's Social Care.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
