Liquid Personnel Recruitment

Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Children’s Social Worker to join its client’s Children In Care team, based in Cheshire West and Chester.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive authority committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people in care. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of children in care, undertaking statutory visits, care planning, permanency planning, and working closely with families, carers, and partner agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of Children in Care, ensuring all statutory responsibilities are met.
  • Complete statutory visits and maintain accurate, timely case recordings.
  • Develop and review care plans to promote positive outcomes and permanence.
  • Undertake assessments, reports, and court-related work where required.
  • Build effective relationships with children, families, foster carers, and residential providers.
  • Chair and participate in professional meetings, reviews, and multi-agency forums.
  • Work collaboratively with education, health, and other partner agencies to safeguard children and support their development.
  • Support children and young people through care proceedings, placement moves, and transition planning.
  • Ensure all safeguarding concerns are identified and acted upon appropriately.
  • Contribute to achieving permanence through reunification, long-term fostering, special guardianship, or adoption where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Experience within a Children in Care / Looked After Children Team
  • Strong assessment, care planning, and safeguarding skills
  • Experience completing statutory visits and permanency planning
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment
